If you haven`t seen the video she acted like a jerk, went after a fan who pointed to her after she tangled up with Sophie, who had the foul called on her. She was assessed a technical foul but the league shouldn`t tolerate any player acting like that. I`m sure they will since it`s the WNBA though. Fan allegedly said "that was on you" or something like that which sounded pretty benign & pointed at her. Pretty thin-skinned to get that upset about that, if reports are accurate. Then, of course, she didn`t apologize. C`mon, A`ja, aren`t you better than that?
Think the WNBA will suspend A`ja for a game? The rules say she should be(& she should) but they won`t.

She was the clear aggressor but she'll be portrayed as the victim. She was, after all, pointed at.
I wouldn't suspend her after watching the replay since she got a technical foul. I don't think that would be proportional given this is the last game of the series.
Sounded like she was just frustrated and let things get the best of her.

There is the minor point that league rules call for a suspension for what she did. Technical fouls are not a substitute for a suspension.
What does the rules say? Or is this just your rules?

the Commissioner (or her designee) has exclusive jurisdiction. This means the Commissioner has the authority to affirm, reduce, modify, or effectively overturn the discipline on appeal.
She probably should have been ejected per the rule, but she wasn't. I don't really have an issue with it, but that also sets a precedent and blurs the rule.
I understand why they wouldn't suspend her and have no issue with it. Wouldn't have cared if they would have suspended her.
There are instances where NBA players have been suspended only to appeal and serve the suspension weeks later or even the next season. No one cared.
Certainly not worth denigrating the best women's basketball player in our school's history over it endlessly like is going on now, especially since this is way out of character for her.
I certainly am going to pull for her and side with offering her grace as a gamecock and not constantly berate the hell out of her over it on a message board. Those doing that here and obsessively on larger social media sites have other motives because it's not at all proportional.
You're skipping over the suspension and assuming an appeal based on something from a different league.

The fan sees his life flash before his eyes, stumbles back and falls into a seat as she hovers over him going nuts. Then the announcers blame the fan and security kicks HIM out! 
I can get over all that and call it a day. But listing to what A’Ja said after the game is what makes her seem so cringy.

Why suspend her. She already received a technical foul for the incident. It's the playoffs. The best players play in the playoffs unless there is something egregious. Maybe if there was some sort of physical exchange, but nah, it would be ridiculous to suspend her for that. Also, it would taint a victory for the Fever if they were to win. I get a lot of people want Caitlin to win, however, not that way. If you are going to be best, you have to beat the best. Not try to find technicalities to avoid playing them. That has been my problem with the Caitlin phenomenon all along. People want to anoint her instead of allowing her space to earn it.

What A'ja did was wrong, pure and simple. What's odd is that it is so out of character for her. The rules are the rules.
They won't suspend her. This was her first blowout like this and she got penalized on the floor. Even if she was suspended, the commish could overturn it, as the union agreement allows.
The team could announce a punishment but they'd be nuts to do that and you don't do that to appease people that hate you anyway.
This is actually good for the WNBA. More people will tune in tonight to watch and rational people understand this was an unusual thing for her, in an otherwise outstanding year and career.
Doesn't matter now because the decision has been made. However, this push to suspend A'ja Wilson seemed so desperate and silly to me. Why don't Caitlin fans have confidence in her. If you believe she can help the Fever beat A'ja why are you worrying about whether A'ja plays or not.

Refs said they classified the space she occupied as a player escape lane rather than part of the stands, according to the league source.
Anyway, there's expected to be around 12,000 Fever fans tonight in Vegas, and I hope every last one of them point their middle finger at A'ja the entire game. And oh, BTW, the Fever security team reviewed the tape, spoke to witnesses and determined the fan did nothing wrong and was allowed to return to his seat / the game. The league’s subsequent review reached the same conclusion about the fan.
Translation: A'ja is the bad guy, of course. There is no other determination. Thin skinned, woke, idiot lost her cool. Should have been ejected.

Serious question. What does Caitlin have to do with the ?nba enforcing its own rules on Wilson? Is she a teammate? Did she also go into the crowd to harass the guy that pointed and also not get punished?
I wonder if all these so called WNBA Rules Police cared about the rules when the league office rescinded Caitlin Clark's eighth technical foul of the year so she could avoid a one game suspension in August. Professional leagues bend the rules to cater to their stars all the time. WNBA would be foolish to suspend one of the headlining stars in their biggest matchup to date in the season. It was never going to happen. If you thought so, you were wishing on a star.
So, by that logic, suspend her. Follow the rules. Then rescind the suspension, as Trannytree has pointed out is within their power.
Not applying the rules at all comes across a little differently than doing something they've already done.
