Amazing. Sayin has thrown 33 strikes to Smith for 617 yds and 7 TD's. Holy Guacamole'. Will our secondary figure this one out? Moulton shaving Jackson by a yard. 284-283.

Our defense has to bend & not break. :)

We can't lose the turnover battle.

Twenty years ago today, in the 2006 game, when Game Day was also in Iowa City:

Ohio State had 0 turnovers; IOWA had 4 TURNOVERS.

--> Drew Tate threw 3 INTs.

--> Iowa's Scott Chandler lost a fumble when Iowa was in Ohio State territory and down 31-17.

IOWA didn't have the ball much in that game, either.

We were lucky to lose by "just" 21 points, imo, because it was a disastrous performance.

Time of Possession:
40:30:
Ohio State
19:30:......IOWA

Really glad to see the young man listed out.

Not fair to Tyler or the team for him to be out there.

With a bye week around the corner, take however long it takes to get 100%. Hawkins will step in.

It was absolutely mind-blowing how much of the Michigan game Tyler played.

In real time, I was freaking out about it after Michigan's first TD to Buchanan. It was 100% obvious on the play that Tyler couldn't run. Which made it 100% obvious that he was a liability on the field.

Someone on the staff had to see it. Because if everyone on the field somehow missed it, they have the TV broadcast feed in the booth.

Perhaps it was pointed out, perhaps they asked TB how he was doing, and perhaps he said he was fine. And I could see how both he and the team could be tricked, as he was able to play the run well enough.

But from my under informed perspective, it seems Iowa's protocol in these situations might need some looking at.

Someone has to be delegated to review all available info, when it comes to injuries, and be the strongest voice. Anyone with that power would have determined TB must come out of the game. It can't be the player.

Like I said, I'm under informed in regards to Iowa's protocols, and am not suggesting there to be a problem with them.

But I do believe it to have been a mistake for Tyler to have been on the field. As I believe to be informed enough to determine that TB was too hurt to be able to run well enough to have not been a liability in pass coverage.

Of course Michigan saw it. As soon as they got behind in the 2nd half, they made Brown run deep. It was again clear on that play that he couldn't run. And I'm loosing it, screaming for the staff to get him off the field. So of course, on the very next play Brown can't keep up with his guy in the scramble drill, for another TD.

This would have been about as mad as I've ever been at KF, had Iowa lost the game.

Re-watching the game, you can see Tyler can't run, even before their first TD.

Hopefully this is something the staff will learn from and be better at handling. I'm sure they will. And hopefully TB recovers fully

brown is a big loss but can't have him out there if he isn't 100% as we saw
Good that we've had the week to prepare including the guy who started the first two games when he was injured to start the season. A lot better then finding out in warm ups that Brown can't go.

His name is Hawkins. Looked like Brown pulled a hamstring, that is multiple games. He can really hit.

Sayin is not a great running threat...PRESSURE is very important against him. Get the ball out of his hands quicker and/or force some bad throws. Can't let him sit back there for very long. Make them more of a running team. come up with the stops in the red zone forcing FGs. They CAN be beat.....they can also win by wide margin.

Offense has to do their part early and often. Move the ball. Eat some clock. Finish drives. Illinois moved the ball against OSU......we can too but it will take real solid execution and not getting behind the chains.

I may be crazy but I am expecting a tight game.
