I never really got why you had Lonergan as your #1 after weeks of practice but then you then pull him when your OL was hideous and nobody else played well. They you put Surace in when you didn't think he was good enough to start. Then when he struggles he gets pulled for Loneregan who you pulled. As usual I have no real confidence in RU's QB handling. Its feels like blindfolded "Pin The Tail On The Donkey " game

Lonergan was hurt, that's why he was pulled. He was always QB1.

The OL was hideous because, apparently, there were people playing out of position. It only took the full complement of practices and 2 embarrassing losses to teams that were a combined 2-22 last season to figure that out.

Things like that are why I don't believe anything I hear/read about spring and summer practices. Years ago I watched some Army spring scrimmages and they would look like Ohio St vs Michigan and then they would only win 2-3 games the next seasons lol, I still cant get the losing Flats thing. If RU had a real shot at a good OL then Schiano could go visit if Flats didn't want to make a long trip. Perhaps GS didn't like him personally.

So far, Turner has not been an upgrade. I don't understand what happened with Flaherty, either.

Sometimes its the blocking scheme. There is man/position blocking and there is zone blocking which is kinda freelance (man blocking is marching band music and zone is jazz). Some places like Saban's Bama use both. In RU games I've seen OL players lost on who to block. When you see defenders running freely right past idle blockers its usually because he's blocking a zone and not a man. I've seen opponents crowd players into a tight area and when ball is snapped players dont know who they have.

I know Flats used zone but he probably has his own system for it. I've watched some Turner coaching vids and think he's a good coach. A good OL is like a machine with players the cogs. Flats was big on repetition and he got his guys tuned-up. Hollin Pierce was huge but sometimes just putting him in an area was enough to block defenders on runs and he didn't have to pancake anyone. A back like Monangai or Rice will know how to play that. All they need is a crease. RU OL was getting fun to watch as they seasoned in

Apparently if you pay attention you’ll get these things that you never get.

Honestly, I'm at the point I mostly stopped paying full attention. I only watch the highlights (which are actually pretty long and better than all the commercials). I'll watch Indiana game because its Indiana.

How can you pull out a QB whose not even in uniform because he’s hurt?

Try again.
