Im trying to figure out of this is like A&M’s Corps like MSU used to have, or something else. The Pentagon approved it so there must be a tie to military commissions. What do they do? I’m not familiar.

Army and AFSounds like they will be tied to ROTC, I assume we still have that..
That hasn't been the case since the 2005 Defense Officer Personnel Management Act. ROTC commissions for those going on active duty were made regular commissions then.If it’s like A&M it will come with the possibility of a Regular Commission as opposed to a Reserve Commission. Very few places outside West Point, A&M, Norwich, offer a regular commission.
My wife went to Texas A&M, so we have seen them up close many times. It is impressive when they march into the stadium. Of course they have about 3,000 of them.Yes, Miss State used to have a corps of cadets; however, the corps “of old” (read mandatory/tied to military service) disappeared around 1969 (ish?) when ROTC became more prevalent and voluntary only.
Exactly. It will bring a substantial amount of revenue to State. Great news.If it’s like A&M it will come with the possibility of a Regular Commission as opposed to a Reserve Commission. Very few places outside West Point, A&M, Norwich, offer a regular commission.

I was there during that time but it wasn't like A&M's corp. At State, all male freshmen and sophomores had to take basic ROTC, meaning every Tuesday you wore either the Army or AF uniform all day and participated in military drills for on hour on the drill field. There was also a one-hour class you took once a week. You got 1 hour credit for each semester. Army guys were supposed to go to the armory once a week to clean their M-1 carbines, but few actually did that.Yes, Miss State used to have a corps of cadets; however, the corps “of old” (read mandatory/tied to military service) disappeared around 1969 (ish?) when ROTC became more prevalent and voluntary only.
From what I can gather it's kind of like ROTC but designated to one branch. If it’s like A&M it will come with the possibility of a Regular Commission as opposed to a Reserve Commission. Very few places outside West Point, A&M, Norwich, offer a regular commission.
Interesting. I was just about to say if the caveman came up with it motives should be questioned. Now I see, unfortunately, that the whole motivation is political. It’s great to finally have someone who can politicize and demilitarize our military all at once. I, for one, enjoy having dangerously low defense capabilities, while pissing off the rest of the world and having the Pentagon focused on punishing higher ed institutions that don't cow down to them while dismissing all the adults from the room. <general rant over> <something positive about us somehow getting some financial benefit from a broken government while pretending that the ends always justify the means>Five (ah, you edited it from 4 to 5 while I was responding)

I have a degree from Liberty. It's an incredible school, beautiful campus. We can still associate thoughETA: anything that lumps us in with Liberty has my general disdain; I'd prefer no association with that dumpster fire of a place
Is he in this picture maybe?Mine too, 1922.
I dislike it primarily because of the "Christian" designation with all the sexual impropriety that went along with the former? president, his wife, the pool boy, hiring Hugh Freeze (perfect fit with that kind of activity). There are some good people who teach there, and I know some great folks with degrees from there, I just admittedly am pretty disgusted by church/sexual scandals in general and cover ups about it, so admittedly am tossing the baby right out with the bath water.I have a degree from Liberty. Huh? Can you dummy all that down a little so avg folk can understand?Interesting. I was just about to say if the caveman came up with it motives should be questioned. I was very unhappy about all of that as well, mad to be honest. It really hurt Liberty's reputation, no doubt about it.I dislike it primarily because of the "Christian" designation with all the sexual impropriety that went along with the former? president, his wife, the pool boy, hiring Hugh Freeze (perfect fit with that kind of activity).

Your side has eviserated Title IX all on your own. Not debatableIf you are leery of Liberty, then you will be straight sketched out after you read about Hilldale for 20 minutes.
The length they have gone to not have to follow title IX, as well as the curriculum they are spreading to quasi-opaque charter/religious “schools“ around the country, is bonkers to read about.
