Yeah, most teams aren't as crazy as we saw for the Vanderbilt/NC State ending. Pretty sure rules folks thought about injuries and/or bad blood types of things that could occur.It used to be that even in the case when you scored a game-winning TD, you HAD to snap the ball for a PAT attempt. But the rule apparently was changed recently in light of the fact that no one would actually kick the ball with the lead. They'd just kneel down, making the PAT attempt moot. At least that's one explanation.

As I mentioned above, you also have bad blood issues that could come up during that play. Fights, potential injuries, etc.I was wondering about this. IF the Hawks were obligated to make a PAT try...would you not just do a victory formation kneel down?

Moments later the head ref announced the game was over. Did Kirk not realize Iowa had won with a 6-point touchdown and time expired, up by 1, and no opportunity for Michigan to get the ball?
