It's just part of the deal with when you work CPS, I work as a contractor for them and if you expect to be paid in a timely fashion you are living in fantasy land. Good for the refs for walking out.

Already canceled some JV games. These are now homecoming and senior night games being threatened because they cant figure out a way to follow thru on their obligation.

And please dont come into this thread as an excuse to get off your anti-CPS, anti-chicago rants and barely vague dog whistles.
Much of that is brought on by themselves so save your bs. CPS deserves what they get.

As a CPS official and coach, I feel for my fellow officials. We didn't get all of our money for track untill the end of June. And that is payment for meets that happened as early as April. Too many cooks in the kitchen

I won’t turn this into a political issue. A simple Google search on contractors not being paid for their services or not being paid on time will yield results from across the country. Stop pretending that this is unique to Chicago.
Ya, that’s an understatement…..

You are correct. This isn't unique to Chicago. However, we don't live in Detroit, where one of the top 50 teams in the country is located (Cass Tech). We live in Illinois, the state where Chicago is located. And Chicago is reknown for not staying withinb its budget at the city and CPS level. This isn't a race to be the less smelly piece of crap. It's supposed to be a race to not be a piece of crap. And CHicago is the dingleberry of the Midwest.

Games are on. The Scum Times said the payments were expedited & it was a computer glitch
Not a computer glitch. I umpire HS baseball. I occasionally get paid before I get home the game via Arbiter. Shout out to Morton (Berwyn). The fingers on the keyboard release the payments.

Just watched a hell of a game on YouTube. Bulls had Whitney Young beat. Tried to score again up 12-7 instead of running clock out. Fumble by Bulls returned 97 yards or thereabouts for a TD with a shade over a minute. Bulls had a receiver wide open but QB has 10 yard arm strength & ball fell incomplete. 13-12 WY

Never been so wet in my life. The game right afterwards went five overtimes.
