Cant believe it's week 8. As it pertains to the SWP the East appears to be resolved while there is still work to do in the West.
East
Romeoville (1-6) @ Joliet C (3-4) - It's been tough sledding for the Spartans, but a playoff birth is still on the table should they finish the season with two W's. Joliet C wants to add to their win total and historic season, this is the best opportunity to do that. GOTW in the East.
Plainfield S (6-1) @ Plainfield C (1-6) - South and QB Armani Ford shook up the world Friday night when they upset Yorkville in crossover week. Cougars just need to ride out the rest of the season, collect a couple wins, and see who they get after the playoff bye week in 7A. Coach of the year candidate perhaps?
Joliet W (2-5) @ Plainfield E (4-3) - This game has plenty significance for both teams as East is jockeying for playoff positioning. I haven't looked at the 6A projections but at 6-3 an opening round bye may not be out of the question if the Bengals can string two wins together. West is still looking for a playoff clinching 3rd win and a 4th win for seeding.
West
Plainfield N (6-1) @ Bolingbrook (6-1) - North finds themselves in charge of their own destiny, if they win out they get at least a share of the conference championship. Also, 8-1 will be great for seeding purposes. However, they need to avoid being upset by the upset minded Raiders who appear to be rounding into form. Tigers' RB put up monster numbers last week and will want to repeat that performance.
Minooka (4-3) @ Oswego (6-1) - the marquee game in the West pits these two old rivals against each other, both looking to better their playoff positioning. I don't know what more needs to be said.
Oswego E (4-3) @ Yorkville (3-4) - Yorkville is currently on a skid after losing to Plainfield S in the crossover week and wants to end it to secure a decent seeding in the post season. Oswego E isnt on a skid, but wants to do the same with Oswego looming in week 9. Again, playoff implications on both sides
