Franklin would be a great fit
A perfect fit really. We could at least match his pay from Penn State. I think he would be a sure thing to get us eight or nine ones a year. He would not have the intense pressure of national title or bust.

Just out of curiosity, what makes Carolina a better program or fit then the other openings
Y’all act like you can hire anybody you want because you’re such a prestigious program.

Ain't gonna happen ...

We are stuck with SB and his abysmal hires for at least the next 2 years.

Make it happen. Get it done.

This is one of the most atrocious losses in our history.
Why? He will suck too as soon as he walks on the field.

Keep Beamer and use the buyout to purchase a basketball or Baseball team. We suck at football and always will.

If Beamer is still head coach for the Coastal game, we'll know we got a dud in Donati.

Someone at some point has to have some balls and make some big boy decisions.

Just a reminder that James Franklin was sitting out there for the taking. It would have almost been too easy. The coach who has VaTech sitting at 4-0 right now. The man who led Vanderbilt....Vanderbilt...into the top 25 for the first time since the 1940s. And did it 2 years in a row.

Would he have won a title here? No. But we aren't trying to win titles. We're trying to be a 7-8, or optimistically, 9-win football team. He would have made us an 8-win team this year, for sure.

Nothing against Franklin but then why was he mediocre, at best, at Penn State? Agree he was very good when he was at Vandy and he seems to have Virginia Tech on the rise - hopefully good enough to beat Clemson this year. So why was he struggling at Penn State and fired? I really don`t know so just asking.

Mediocre? He won 70% of his games there, lol. Five top 10 finishes.

He was only fired b/c they are aspiring to national titles and he had a stigma of not being able to get past the big teams.

The man turned Vanderbilt into a winner in the SEC. That's as close to a like-for-like comparison to us as you can get.

At VT, he has beaten Boston College, Maryland, Old Dominion and VMI. I think I'll let him play a few legit football teams before I think he is worth considering.

I don't think he's terrible, but I'm not sure he's much better than the mediocre we've always had. On top of that, he is sort of an a**, and I'm not sure if he "really wants to be here".

He won at Vandy.
