From what I can tell, DWS only speakers are mounted on the top and side of the south video board.

Knoxville, Oxford and Tuscaloosa there are speakers mounted from the upper decks, approximately every other section and up top both end-zones.
Are the sound systems better in other stadiums? Stadiums are large enough for the speed of sound to be an issue.

That's my point. In Knox Oxford and Tuscaloosa the speakers are above most sections. The sound only has to travel a few hundred feet in any direction.

State has one set of speakers in the south end zone for the entire stadium. ...and I'm pretty sure they're sparkomatics.

Earplugs or not, my ears still ring so I personally can't stand the cowbells.

But they are who we are and they are SPECTACULAR.

Someone posted earlier that it would be nice to get our other running backs involved. Agree, they looked good against ULM.

Perhaps they have not grasped the system well enough or can't block well enough for K1.

We have a small but very audible Low IQ football fanbase when it comes to ringing the cowbells.

One of the things that has bothered me for years is that we’ll have fans that ring the bells after EVERY single play on offense or defense that isn’t a total disaster. It’s like they just need something to do with their hands.

MSU RB takes hand-off, bounces outside and is tackled for no gain. Thousands of cowbells ring in delight. Like, that play sucked about as bad as it could have….WTF are you cheering for? The fact that he didn’t fumble? Same thing on defense. Opposing RB goes up the gut for 7 yards on first down, great run. Thousands of cowbells again ring in delight….evidently because it wasn’t an 80 yard TD.
My gripe is the fan behind me who holds their bell at my ear level and rings constantly. Hold it high dubmass!

My take on the cowbells. I was fortunate enough to sit in an endzone suite last night. However, three kids had cowbells inside the suite and rang them EVERY play with enthusiasm. Talk about echoing off the walls! It was miserable, but who’s gonna be the jerk to bust those kids up? Get off my lawn - right?

Got back home about 1:30 am and immediately went to bed.

1) The crowd was unbelievable and the energy was there all night. The LED lights are a really great addition to bring everything up a notch.

2) The PA and sound overall is still dog shìt. I could not hear anything being said by the refs and the videos are all muffled. It may be better in certain parts of the stadium but we sit in section 5 and you couldn’t hear anything.

3) Fluff Bothwell is an absolute beast and deserves all the praise. I would love to know his yards after contact from last night. Just running over people on every play.

4) The left side of the O line is an adventure and not the fun kind.

5) I thought Mizzou did a great job on defense…. unless they went man. They got roasted every time on man coverage. It’s unreal the speed State has at wide receiver. Also Evans’ catch in the 4th quarter might be one of the best catches ever at DWS.

6) Didn’t get a stadium cup so can’t report if they stunk**

7) For the amount of people there I felt like we were able to get out of town pretty fast. Maybe it was different for others but I felt like it was pretty good.

8) The cowbell record was probably a legit number. There were so many bells there tonight and I’m glad I brought some ear plugs because it was incredibly loud. Also on that note…it’s like we’ve got to learn all over again when to ring and when not too. I know the crowd was excited with the lead but on that last possession trying to burn clock, ringing as loud as possible on every snap when the offense is trying to work is not when to ring your bell.

9) K1 doesn’t have that internal clock yet but it also doesn’t help that the previously mentioned left side can be a turnstile. The first TD pass was a thing of beauty. I really wasn’t sure it was ever going to come down because it felt like an eternity from the time he threw it. The end of half debacle was on Lebby for a run play with no timeouts but then the next play K1 has to know to throw that ball out of bounds to save the clock. They’re both still learning and not coming away with points there was criminal.

10) Just kick the ball on kickoffs as hard and far as possible. Don’t do the goal line kick and give them an opportunity to return.

One last thing: The amount of time it takes to play a college football game is just silly and of course that should be shouldered by the TV networks. I wish college football had the ability to have a little say so like the NFL does with TV because they have it down to a science. NFL games last just a hair over 3 hours every single time (unless there’s overtime). The amount of commercial breaks or at least the length of commercial breaks is really ridiculous. I think the game last night was almost 4 hours from kickoff til the final.
Agree on all except 2. I could hear everything. Not nitpicking you, but I do give credit to Selmon, I thought the entire atmosphere was great

Yes and super loud near them but with croud noise it dissipates. I agree with more better and then they wouldn't have to be as loud for the fans right next to them.

We sit in scoreboard. The music is loud as crap, but the audio from the ref was the worst it’s ever been. I couldn’t understand a single call all night.
The PA I could hear fine except on a big play when the crowd drowns it out.

One thing. Our base offense is a read option offense. That means almost every play when the running back lines up next to the QB it can be either a run or pass and it is up to the QB to read the numbers in the box and a few other things. Missouri ran a light box almost the whole game. That calls for the QB giving the back the ball. K1 did his read and gave the ball to Fluff. He needs to learn that in that situation due to time left and timeouts he needs to go against the read and keep the ball for a pass or him running. I do think he is battling an injury and is being very judicious about running himself right now. It is not Lebby's decision at that time.

What are yall's thoughts on Pullium last night
Pretty good. Had two good punts early, a third that probably should have been downed inside the 5 or 10. One got away from him and went 59 yards for a touchback. I feel certain coaches told him to punt that last one out of bounds so they couldn't return it, so it was short but served it's purpose.

From where I sit it sounds like we are trying to rattle the trunk lid on our charger with the bass. Sounds like the speakers are on the verge of blowing out. Turn the volume down a tad so there isn’t so much overpowered distortion and it will clear a lot of that up

I also suspect we were trying to avoid a return on that last one. It wasn’t ideal, but there were much worse possibilities and we’ve experienced it pretty recently.

He’s a 4th string true FR. Those guys don’t get snaps in the real games. His time will come. But it’s not this year.
Granted, it was ULM, but I figured he maybe moved up after that. I still can't believe he hasn't had a single carry, even if he is lower on the list.

We can't keep using Fluff as much as we are. He won't last the entire season.

I sit in section 2, the speakers are loud af there lol but yeah we're like 6 feet from them.

That was the best environment ive ever been in, hands down.

As an alum of the FMB, the band having lights on their shoulders and having an overhead drone shot of the drill was 17ing amazing to me.

The lights everywhere in general were 17ing amazing. Fantastic job Mr. Selmon et. al.

My cup didn't smell, idk what that's about.

The fans absolutely don't understand when to ring. I think we did about a B grade on ringing, BUT a lot of the snaps they only rang for a couple of seconds starting when the center was over the ball. Ring literally from the snap until the center gets back over the ball on the next play guys.

Why dont we do cheers anymore? There was one half a'd maroon white and we just don't do maroon white fight fight fight on kickoffs anymore. Why?

And yeah, incredibly glad we had so many recruits there that night.

Ive done this in the past to people in front of me who were being Aholes. Like this week where they tried to fight everyone who walked in front of them. How do you report fans be btw? No specific reason, just asking...

Yeah the lights on the band uniforms looked awesome and the halftime performance using the drone was great too.

I don’t think we have anyone who can come close to his blocking & maybe receiving too. If we think KT1 is getting a lot of pressure now…..

One more I forgot. We have the best tackling cornerbacks in college football. I’ve never seen corners take down people like they do on solo tackles. I know Jones is the man and gets the attention but Jefferson is nearly just as good.
Smoot might have been one of the most fundamental tacklers we've ever had. Always squared up, and then straight to wrap up the legs.

Also, I agree with you on the length of game. The biggest thing that needs to be done is shortening halftime from 20 minutes to 12 minutes. I’m sure we can figure out a way for our band to do a show in nine minutes. They play the same **** every year, so it’s not like it’s anything new

Also another thought. They picked a hell of a game to have recruits there for. They were everywhere in the corner where the team comes out. I bet there were 50 players there.
We are getting so much better at this than ever before... finally. I've been complaining for years about our lack of organization and missing huge opportunities that are obvious, like this. Jans also had the two 5-star basketball recruits there, which is so smart.

From that kind of easy stuff, to letting the fans know there was an open hoops practice, having Hardy play a concert the night before the Bama game and NOT scheduling it against another school event, and many other things - we seem to be getting our shiit together and it shows. I guess Selmon gets most of the credit for this, but who woulda thunk it, maybe having intelligent, reasonable people who are willing to put in work around the organization (Charlie Winfield being one) is actually paying off.

I politely turned around mid-second period and asked her to raise it high when she rang it. She acquiesed politely and apologized, then left at half and ne'er returned.

I thought using the drone pre-game for over head shots of the stadium was pretty cool too. Gave it the feel of the big Goodyear blimp games I grew up with.

I had an obnoxious Tennessee couple in front of me last year and adopted the low ringing tactic and they relocated before halftime….I’ve got one of the 40 year old big bells and it comes in handy for situations like that.

On reporting fans they generally put a number you can text on the Jumbotron before the games.
