Bring a lawn chair because if you not getting there early you will have to stand.

After that disappointing loss to West Wilkes. The Coaches at East Wilkes are going to be on a mission working these players hard in practice. They might come out and play much better against Starmount than they did vs West Wilkes, but it want be enough to compete with Starmount? Starmount by 17

I thought originally it would be a good close game. Starmount is just hitting another level now. They're especially dangerous when 0 is in the backfield. Rams by 21

I think this goes 1 of 2 ways. East keeps is close until halftime and Starmount pulls away in the 2nd half or Starmount puts the gas on early.

Big news from the Ram House today! Congrats to Keyvon!!
That’s awesome and well deserved! He is a monster of a player on the field! Humble and does not give up with or without the ball in his hands. Congratulations to this Starmount Ram! 😁

100% If east can somehow control the clock and keep the offense out there could look at a 14-7 halftime score. But if not Starmount Will have 40 on them before east knows what hit them.

This is one of those games that can really tell a lot about both teams. Starmount is coming off a huge blowout win against Alleghany, so do they come in feeling that it is going to be an easy game and overlook EW or do they come in and mean business. Vise versa for EW. They come in after a disappointing loss, so do they come in with a losing mindset already or do they come in fired up and play to their potential?

I’m sure Coach Walker will have them fired up to play… But it’s up to the players to make the tackles on defense.. They did not tackle against WW at all. A repeat defensive performance from EW like last week’s against Starmount will get them beat by 35+.

Wow!…thought last week was up with Keyvon Propst being selected for the Shrine Bowl, but now we see QB Deuce Best has been invited to play in the All-American Blue-Grey Game in Dallas TX in January.
Congrats to two of our big dogs at the Ram House!

Great game by East Wilkes, they earned every point and deserve the win. An amazing team win.

Starmount's defense couldn't do anything to stop them. First time seeing a team move the ball like that on Pardue's defense. Starmount playing without 0 on defense for the last quarter certainly hurt as well.

Starmount spotted East Wilkes points at the very beginning with foolish undisciplined penalties and that ended up being the difference in the game. They have a history of this.

I stated earlier this week in this topic that the East Wilkes Coaches were going to be on a mission to work these kids hard in practice after losing to West Wilkes. I gurss it paid off. This week Starmount Coaches are going to be on a mission.

It was a game to the final seconds! Congratulations to East Wilkes! They came in ready and loaded with speed and quickness. Starmount was guilty of too many errors and ridiculous penalties in the first half. It was evident from the opening kickoff that ended up being a turnover and the Cardinal’s first score. Hopefully it’s another mid-season wake up call like last year against West Wilkes. And they’re next.

Wake up call. How do you give up that many yards? After that I can't take them seriously as contender

I wonder if this will become a Pardue staple? The mid season head scratcher.

Holt couldn’t win the big one in the playoffs.
Johnson’s teams took 5 games to get rolling.
Grinton couldn’t beat anyone with a pulse.
Pardue might have the mid season game that leaves you thinking “what the heck was that?”

I love everything about what he does for the football team except for one. He has GOT to get control of the discipline of the players. The unsportsmanlike penalties are giving the close games away. Hard to win against good competition with 185 yards in penalties. Most of that was in the first half too. This happened in the Murphy game last year as well in 2 key spots.

Respectfully the last 3 or 4 yrs the disciplinary issues plaguing the Rams have been consistent! Last night was no surprise except how the fans acted surprised by it even though they see it often!
You're exactly right. I've noticed that the player that gets the penalty will come off the field and at times a coach will pat him on the head like it's no big deal. They will never win the big games until this gets under control

I’m shocked by this game . However I knew we had the offensive talent to score points, I just didn’t figure we had the horses to keep up. We gave up the big play time after time and Starmount seemed to struggle reading the qb on the option. Does anyone have any stats from both teams offensively?

Best of luck to the rams the rest of the way. Next week it’s Starmount and West Wilkes and East Wilkes travels to Alleghany. Next week could possibly determine how the conference ends up. But several teams still have a meeting with Wilkes Central who gave West Wilkes all they could handle. Maybe the conference is closer than everyone thought?

Log Jam at 2nd place between
EW Starmount and WC… who saw this coming! Great. Conference Parity for sure! Can WW continue to put their stamp on the conference next week against the Rams? Can EW keep up that outstanding Offensive Swagger against a now struggling Trojan team🤔

Your Cardinal QB Spicer is a little wiz. I think his size, quickness, and snapping the ball right under the center really eluded the defense. It also boiled down to different style of play. And the Vestal kid was like lightning cutting straight up thru the defensive line for multiple runs and TDs! East Wilkes was ready, and certainly motivated by the game last week, no doubt.
Starmount needs to reign in the extracurricular…and this team will have to learn to take care of business together. The penalties were a killer in the first half, some of which were unsportsmanlike legit, and some were piled on BS calls. The game is not a don’t-touch-me sport.
Going foward Pardue will need to emphasize
some hardcore discipline to alleviate bone-headed calls.

Wow 525 yards rushing, what is the record for a single game ?
No idea on the all time record, it has to be a huge number though because Murphy ran for 771 yards against Community School of Davidson in the playoffs last year and that was not a record breaking team total.

Despite the loss for the Rams, and other issues that can be improved upon, this was a great game, and great atmosphere! It was great to see a packed house, and energy on both sides of the field. East Wilkes just needs more seating on both sides! Fans were standing all around the fence, and on the sidelines. I quite honestly expected a more defense battle akin to last year, instead of a score fest.
Good luck to East Wilkes the rest of the season. It would be nice to see getting further in the playoffs and not dropped in the second or third round.
