Sopranos was a great show. One of the best shows in our lifetimes. It was 25 years ago. Kids now don’t care or know it. Is what it is. Same with Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Metallica and AC/DC. All memories of our era. What 18 year old wants to hear that ?

I had been a big Springsteen fan back in the 1970s and was surprised that by the early 1980s most 18 year olds like my younger brother and his friends didn’t want to listen to him. Maybe he’s picked up some new fans now that he looks like he’s trying to win a Rachel Maddow look alike contest. I do apologize if I used the wrong pronouns in describing (him/her?)

Not sure what game you were at, but we had to take our canopies down around 2 due to the wind gusts. Plus the upper deck was brutal, especially in the 2nd half.

Agreed so cringy. Don’t know what demo they are trying to appeal to. But it’s a miss in so many ways. It’s almost like they’ve used the same plan for 5-6 years. Oh wait they have. It might not have worked last night, but what if there were an incentive to get in to the stadium early? Money talks. Give everyone a X% discount on food and merch up until kickoff. And as far as ops, keep it simple! There doesn’t need to be a gimmick between every play. It’s like baseball games now where there’s something between every pitch. Annoying. Act like a big-time program. Time for a new PA guy too (sorry, Joe).

There is no new person

It’s not rocket science or even Broadway. I’m sure there is some kid at Mason Gross or a Communications major that could do as good or even a better job.

Like anything there are people on here who have good suggestions about just about anything related to gameday…

Game day ops should be the easiest thing in the world for the birthplace of college football.

If it were me- I would completely step it back- go hard college traditional experience. You can modernize it a bit and amp it up go back to basics.

Keep the cannon and make sure it is amped up near the opponents sideline as well.

If you want to pump sound into the stadium during play- amp up the band. But do not pump in crap at levels that are painful. And find a way to get the fans to make the noise you are looking for.

Most of all- understand the damn game of football - When we have the ball- no pumped in noise but make sure you are doing something to get the students and fans loud after a good play but just as quickly- bring it down again as soon as we are in the huddle. And then when we are on defense- on a 3rd down play- get rid of that damn guitar swoosh and just get it loud. And please please please - find a way to get the fans in sync with one of the coolest things in college football- the RRRRRRRRRR UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU when it is done right, it is both haunting and intimidating.

Quite honestly- just have whoever is in charge, watch the 06 L'Ville game...

The Scarlet Knight riding in on Excalibur brings a pageantry to Rutgers football program that makes coming to a Rutgers game special. With so little else going for the team this season it is foolish to minimize the pageantry. It is a part of Rutgers!

Simple but effective ideas.
