With :28 left we throw a deep sideline pass to Diaz and get a late hit on Diaz that gave us a critical first down on what would’ve been 4th and 12. Obviously a big moment.
BUT…
What will pay off even bigger in the big picture I believe just as much as that game-winning touchdown was what happened during that play. Hank Brown got absolutely lit up on that throw and obviously was not right afterwards. Would’ve been very easy to fold up shop after that play. Instead, he toughed it out and made two tremendous throws to deliver victory.
His teammates are going to see that in the rewatch and I believe they’ll walk through fire for him going forward. I’ll be surprised if it’s not brought up by Kirk next week.
