Yet we are afraid to throw the football
We dont need to air it out but would it kill us to pass on first down or even play action a little bit more?
LTG. And read the play log. We threw on first down several times, throughout the game.
Of course, but a second tier bowl win in a game we led all but like 52 seconds vs. Big X Michigan in the Big House? No contest for me...

First series, first down we passed. On the next 7 first downs, we ran the ball. At the end of the first in two min situation, we passed on first down, which is an obvious situation. In the second half, we didnt pass on first down until the 4th quarter.
12 runs and 12 passes on 1st down.
Last drive was 1 run and 4 passes.
You must of missed the those plays.
Nope. I was watching all of the first down calls from after the first play of the game until the 4th quarter where we didnt throw on first down (with the exception of when we were in two min mide at the end of the first half)
Like I said earlier in the thread, when someone made the call to put in Heck; it wasn't the QB why the offense wasn't doing more at the time.
LOL! Defense and Special Teams won this game, as per normal. Kirk hired those Coaches, so good job.
So the defense drove 90 yards in the last 2 minutes after the offense gave up a long TD? It took all 3 phases for this one. Defense doesn't appear to be elite this year, but they held out in enough of the critical situations to give us a chance at the end. This game would have been a beatdown with most of the offenses we've had in the last few years. Even when we weren't getting points, we at least managed to avoid any of the huge negative plays or turnovers that have plagued us in big games recently and pick up enough yards to allow us to pin Michigan deep multiple times.
Didn't get to see the last play or the review. I'm generally suspicious of Big Ten refs' motivations in matchups like this, so wasn't surprised by the ref yelling "THE GAME IS NOT OVER THE GAME IS NOT OVER THE GAME IS NOT OVER" approximately 0.003 seconds after the game was over.

I think they said it because they were going to review it.
I figured. I'm just curious how long the review took because I'm too lazy to find the replay.
Must not have been a combined crew of Minnesota and Wisconsin alumni.
They were prob just doing their due diligence since it was right on the OOB line and RVZ went to the ground. Once they showed the first replay it was conclusive.
Watching the replay, I did think it was kind of funny that the Michigan defenders didn't really bother arguing the call, other than the guy who was defending RVZ for like 2 seconds. They knew.
Agreed, also RVZ's reaction pretty much wiped away any doubt I had before they showed the replay...
It was actually great coverage, so the throw needed to be perfect.
How damn lazy are you that you can't find a replay when it's in about every fifth post on this entire page?
Very lazy. But also there are just replays of the catch and score, none of how long they reviewed the catch.
