Paired with Cam Young they were up 4 early and thanks to 3 huge long putts on 3 of the last 4 by Chris, held on for the badly needed USA point..

They are now up 5 thru 9 holes and he is making everything. Great pairing. Star of Day 3 so far.

I think he and Cam Young are a good tandem. It’s a big advantage in match play to have two bombers like that who are always going to force their opponent to hit their second shot/s first.

I cant believe the mods moved this thread. This isnt Olymoic sports..its the ******** Presidents Cup with a Rutgers Grad making news.

Guess they needed room for more repetitive threads and Indy predictive stuff a week in advance.

Seriously, wtf? Over management guys.

Went to post about him a week or two ago, couldn’t find a thread for a bit. Finally realized it had to be in the general pga thread. Strange

Also very odd to have an option to filter out the posts in each thread to show just the staff posts, and when there aren't any it says, "This thread has no staff posts" as if posts from the staff are somehow more important to read.

Thought the Football forum is all things OT and anything about Gotterup isn’t even OT

Should be moved back here!

No, posters requested the “staff only” which is great in the “ask the staff” thread. So if you turn on “staff only” and there aren’t any, it will tell you there are none

no big deal

There's been a year long Chris thread on the RT. I posted about the Cup but it seems no one was interested so it got lost in the dozens of how many ways to say fire Greg threads

They were saying how Chris and Cam were supposed to be paired together Day 1 and Snedeker screwed that up
NY/NJ connection!!
It was the same both rounds, Cam started off really hot on the front 9, then Chris made some long clutch putts on the back.

If Chris can use the time off to somehow improve his approach game, he'll do great things. He's already won 5 times with one of the worst approach stats on Tour

Has had a strong showing in his first team event. Morikawa is so frustrating in these events. Ugghhh

Today’s come back has been fun to watch. I hope this carries over to Ryder Cup. Need a change in philosophy. No more pity party selections.
We always seem to do well in singles. It’s four ball and foursomes where we get our butts kicked in Ryder Cup.

Yea. Need to develop better comraderie. Yea foursomes has been our issue the last 4or5 ryders. Alt shot is tough especially when someone gets you off plan. Mickelson was the absolute worst in that format. Always pressing and putting his partner in bad spots.

CG was on the 14th tee of a south Jersey course. He takes a call from his friend and is asked when he is going to get "there." He says that he will be there soon. He has a shot at the course record with four to play. He gets to the 16th tee and the record looks locked up and "only" has to par in.

Cell rings again. Friends have been waiting for him at the Parker House quite a while and are loud and insistent. Chris walks in and drives over. No course record. Doesn't seem to have hurt his golf career.

Was fun watching Gotterup - way better short game than he probably gets credit for - and then the huge comeback today. So many great matches - thought the Morikawa-Matsuyama match was especially exciting with so many good shots back and forth.

He has a very good short game including Bunker play. When he won the Sony he holed out a couple. He's also an outstanding putter. The putting stats don't always show it for various reasons.

In 2 holes he had over 75 foot of made putt. Then he sunk one from off the green from 30 or so feet. Kid is litany a masher of the ball. Guy has a ridiculous short game. As is evident in his links wins.

Yeah. I don’t know how he can be consistent setting up so far to the left like that but somehow it works for him.
It’s even more odd in person. As they say, swing your swing. I think it really impacts his iron and short game play. Feel like he needs to make changes there
