Team, I didn’t serve, mom’s side is flush with those who did and are. I’m pro military and pro blue (lots of blue friends)
so with that out of the way, how do you feel about civilians wearing this sports gear if like me you haven’t served?
I love the stuff but don’t want to misrepresent myself.
im a bit worried its similar to wearing a $159 Ferrari hoodie but you drive an emira.
check this sick gear:

edit: is it like wearing a $159 Notre Dame hoodie but you have an associates from the Ville?

I don't see an issue- they are called salute to service, not claiming veteran status.

Wearing something like "Army Veteran" on a hat or a"DD214 Alumni" shirt that would be another thing

Also no issue here; I do get annoyed at people wearing shirts with uber patriotic sayings on them like ‘These Colors Don’t Run’ with a skull and flag and machine guns. Bigger pet peeve is my FIL who is a retired reservist but all his retired military stuff makes no mention of reserve status and he never mentions it when people ask where he served and what he did. His combined duty over 20 years is less than my one active duty tour.

The various military/veterans subreddits have a field day with your first point. Pretty funny threads.

“The Ville”. That still a thing? Was cool in the early 70s.
BTW I served 11Bush. I chuckle when non-combats try to look hard

Tgar served, he wears the gear. Tgar has friends who did not serve, they also wear the gear. It’s NFL gear, what’s not to love?

Not sure what your concern is. Go buy some gear And Enjoy wearing it!

Tgar is a little disappointed in the all black look this year. The gray series was solid as the graphics are black, same with the brown series and fatigue color. The Black just isn’t wowing Old Tgar. ( plus, he has a stack of this stuff ).

Army vet here. No problem with it if that's what you want.

I do have a question for the Navy vets. What's with the blue camo uniforms? Is that supposed to make you hard to find if you fall overboard?

I just never understood the camo thing for everyday life. Who are we hiding from?

They phased them out in 2019. The Navy transitioned to a woodland-green, tan, and black pattern as the primary shore working uniform, while shipboard personnel returned to flame-resistant coveralls and utility wear. One of the reasons for doing that was exactly what you said, if a sailor fell overboard the uniform worked too well—blending perfectly with the ocean water and making it extremely difficult for search-and-rescue teams to spot them.

Well, before the blue camo they used the denim pants and lighter blue cotton shirt - so there is that.
