Beamer has now won only 16 out of 41 SEC games . . .

Have been a Beamer fan, but this program is getting worse!! He needs to go, a blowout loss in Tuscaloosa and show him the door!!

Can we now dispel with the "He wants to be here" routine.

Of course he said that at his hiring presser. Standard speech to get the fan base, and more importantly the big boosters energized. You want immediate buy in, so you use the standard prompts.

I'm excited to be here.
I really want to be here.
Looking forward to great things.
If we put in the hard work, no reason we cant win here.

My favorite "It's my dream job".

So, just asking a question. It's not a gotcha.

Of course you're right, they all say that. My question is, don't you believe him, specifically? Does your human side not detect a difference between when he says it, he means it, vs other coaches offering lip service?

Football aside, I believe him. I truly do. - Football wise, unless this team turns around extremely quickly, he must be let go. (My question is not about defending him in any way. He's done this to the team and himself.)

Can we only hire a coach that would be a legit candidate at other SEC schools for HC? No other SEC school would have hired Beamer as HC or Muschamp after he was fired from Florida

So what? You're only as good as your record.

I agree with you and Harvard. I'm not defending him. I've called for his firing last week.

All I'm asking is why Harvard, (or others) believe his "I want to be here" is nothing more than typical coach speak. I'm wondering if I've missed something somewhere that would lead people to believe it's just coach speak.

No, he just said it like all politicians do. He thinks it endears him to the fan base. The older guys like me see the BS. The younger guys who haven't been burned enough times yet buy in. Just like how pols manipulate the teens, college kids and 20 somethings. No different. I was taught as a young guy that you can be the greatest salesman in the world, but in the end you have to be able to do the job. If you can't, people see it.

But, as always, he’s “proud of those guys…” in the locker room.
~man, that gets old~

I tell you what I hate is after a loss when he says the locker room is hurting. That crap is out the window with NIL. A bunch of those guys are making way more than I ever will make. Once you're getting paid 6-7 figures for playing football, you lose the right to sympathy for a bad performance.
