My life on the line ….. Iowa covers +6.5 but loses by 3-4.

I believe the Hawks will need success passing the ball in order to win I just don’t think Hank Brown is ready for a high(er) stakes game at Michigan Stadium before a national audience.

Counterpoint: Brown is ineffective but the Iowa defense stuffs Michigan big time and forces a couple big turnovers leading to points - Iowa wins on a late 4thQ FG 12-10.

If this game turns out to be Brown’s big leap, I’ll be here to celebrate it.

Michigan dorks seem to believe that this may be the easiest game on their schedule so far, as they continue to base their knowledge of Iowa solely on the Brian years. This is going to be a low scoring, 2 yards and a cloud of dust type game where field position is everything. If Iowa wins the turnover battle, they will likely win. They are the cleaner and more disciplined team. The question is, can Hank Brown perform well? First true road game and he has not been pressured this year. If he turns the ball over on an interception or strip sack, the Hawks will be in serious trouble.

Keys to the game:
-Field position
-Special teams
-Turnover battle

The guys will need to play a near perfect game. The defense will need to limit the run and keep Underwood in check and force him to throw. Frustrate him early and let the defense feast on his nervousness and let him make bad decisions. Don't let him get comfortable.

This is a game that will really tell us where the team is at. Iowa State is always a **** show because they're desperate to beat us and Kirk never has the guys ready in early September. The two other teams we've played are nobodies. This may be the only game we win until we head up to Minnesota in week 8, which is a scary thought.

Gotta be the most physical team on the field.

Brown staring down his target catches up to him in this one. I’m afraid he has two turnovers and that’s enough to seal it I a close one - Michigan 16, Iowa 9.

Hawks D turns over Underwood multiple times, but offense goes ultra conservative as Kirk does in all big games and only results in two field goals. Michigan finally puts a drive together late to win 7-6.
