The ball was thrown way behind the WR. He couldn’t make a play on the ball to catch it or knock it down because of where it was thrown. The one thing we don’t know is where the WR should have been on the route.
Tbh, I didnt see the play but figured a close slant was easy enough to throw fairly accurate and figured the DB jumped the route. There goes that theory.

The defense was in Cover 2 and the safety’s assignment was to watch the quarterbacks eyes. Their responsibility was to cover any receiver that flowed into their zone, which is why it’s called a zone defense.
Interesting concept and thanks for the tutorial. So when they play man on the other man formation, they aren't required to patrol a specific area or zone?

I’m glad you didn’t claim to know what’s going on, which is a surprise, because you know more about the clown 🤡 car than college football.

Greg has validated everything I’ve discussed, in his press conferences, especially his mistakes in the portal. He has been transparent regarding his faults but more importantly, will work to avoid similar mistakes in the future. Next time he will choose experience over quantity. By the end of the year, the program will be in much better shape and poised for success next year.
None of that means a damn thing. Slurp slurp slurp.

Brady did very little in his first two years at Michigan. He put up pedestrian stats in year 3, with 15 TDs and 12 ints but had a good senior year with 16 TDS and 6 ints. Suraces and Lonergans year 3 is still being written.

Of course, because when people think of Tom Brady, the first thing they think of is the production at Michigan that led to him being the 199th overall pick.

I prefer apples-apples comparisons. College 3rd year Tim Brady to College 3rd year Surace or Lonergan is a fair comparison.

Wrong. Completely 100% wrong

The comparison is Patriots Tom Brady to 2nd year Rutgers (2025) AJ Surace.

He was supposed to be "ready to go" LAST YEAR. And Rutgers was supposed to "never be the same".

Your words.

"Next year, he’ll be ready to go."

"After AJ Steps on the field, Rutgers Football will never be the same, just like how New England Football was never the same once Tom Brady stepped on the field."

Brady mastered a sophisticated NFL offense in 2 seasons and won a Super Bowl. Surace has not only failed to master KC's considerably more rudimentary offense, he can't even throw the ball to the right team.

College Brady vs College Surace or Lonergan is the appropriate comparison. Brady had Michigan talent surrounding him, and still had a pedestrian junior year. Put Surace or Lonergan on Michigan and he’d look a lot better. This is part of the reason good quarterbacks avoid Rutgers like the plague.

Good quarterbacks avoid Rutgers because their QB coaching has been mostly terrible with the exception of Friedgen's brief tenure. Michigan QBs have generally not lit the NFL or the B1G on fire either.

McNulty did a good job with Mike Teel and Athan had good coaching, which I assume was from Ciarocca. Michigan paid $4M for their QB. Good QB prospects cost big money these days.

McNulty's offenses underachieved given the talent level. Athan succeeded despite KC's predictable, limited, and sometimes awful play calling. Michigan paid 4M for Underwood, which was 1.4M more than Indiana paid for Mendoza and considerably more than RU paid for Athan, and he's been such total @SS that they needed awful officiating to beat Western Michigan. His head coach even questioned whether he should still be the starter.

It’s my thread so I get to make the rules. You can make the rules in your thread.

And your rules are: Surace was "ready to go" for 2025 (LAST year for reference)

Correct?
Stop breaking your own rules by trying to say Surace isn't ready or comparing him to college Tom Brady.

Surace should be having the same effect Patriots Tom Brady did.

Right? By your rules?

QB is position where coaching is as important, and probably more so, than talent. I'm talking pro-style and not dual-threat but we don't dabble in that area.

Because the fanbase isn’t motivated to support success. So we’ve had to develop the kids we could get, as best we could. This isn’t a place that attracts mostly 4 and 5 stars,

While we might have been strong in some areas, we were weak in other areas. That has been true for most Rutgers teams. Our 2006 Team was the closest to perfection, and even they lost two games, as Mike Teel was still developing

Analyze Miami’s roster and you’ll see they are strong across the board. They have no holes. That is because their fans care.

The fact that Rutgers didn't have a better offense in 2006 had nothing to do with the fans caring. It had everything to do with limited, and at times inadequate coaching.

Remember when Al said Winsted would compete for a Heisman? He would lead us to a National Championship? That was awesome.
You were not around for Stanley King? That was epic.

Told the fool that he played against weak competition but he kept clutching on to state receiving record and UA All Star game invite...lol.

At least all went to Rutgers, goes to games and donates. You haven’t done any of these things.

Sorry loser, other than going to Rutgers wrong on all accounts.

As I said in another post, you add no value here. 12+ years and never one post about what actually happens in a game of any sport.

It's one reason why I made you disappear.

IU already down a RB from the opening game and Turbo Richard went out during the NW game. Still a good team but IU looks more mortal in this NW game and frankly so far this year compared to last. Up 15-7 on NW going to the 4th with NW inside the 15.

The only guys that Schiano developed left for greener pastures. Being a developmental program in today’s world means you are guaranteed to lose, as we have seen under Schiano. A real coach will change the trajectory immediately.
