Who shut down the Keystone pipeline? Shut down off shore drilling? Shut down the drilling in Alaska? Shut down the Line 5 in Michigan? Drained our oil reserves? …..
Are you saying the price of gas today is because of Biden?

Are you saying the price of gas today is because of Biden?

No. However it would be lower if not for Biden’s war on fossil fuels.

Prices are currently high because of the Iran war. When the war is over, prices will come back down.

They were high under Biden because of his war on fossil fuels. Prices were only going to get worse under Democrat power. Check out California.

so your saying Democrats and Republicans are both responsible for this?
If that is your point I completely agree

Trump had gas below $3 - he corrected Biden’s failed policies before bombing Iran. Even when the war ends, which Trump has no control of, it will be a long term fix before we return to pre-war baselines.

We agree that Trump fixed democrats failed policies and we know democrats would have kept making bad decisions on purpose.
We agree the war in Iran is making gas prices soar and that is on Trump. Trump is stopping the world's greatest sponsor of terrorism by doing what he is doing, that's a fact . Iran hates us and has since the beginning of time and will do all they can to destroy us . It's their ideology. Democrats was purposely destroying us with their school of thought.
This is painful for us all and if it don't stop it's gonna hurt like heck for a long time , I believe it's worth it.

Gas Prices are controlled by OPEC who can influence global supply by raising or lowering production targets, which impacts overall oil prices

Individual station owners operate as price takers rather than price makers. They set pump prices based on the replacement cost of fuel, local competition, and business overhead rather than arbitrary markup. Individual sellers along the supply chain control their immediate transaction prices, but they remain strictly bound to broader market conditions.

Government does not control or set retail price of gasoline in the United States Gas prices change based on the global free market.

While the government does not set daily prices, it has a few indirect ways to influence costs. Lawmakers can raise or temporarily lower fuel taxes. States can pass anti-price-gouging laws to stop gas stations from raising prices unfairly during a crisis. The president can release oil from emergency stockpiles, though this usually has only a short-term effect on the market.

US presidents have very little control over the price per gallon consumers pay at the pump. A president’s policies might affect gas prices but not in a way that gives him control over how much voters pay at the pump. That doesn’t stop them from trying to lower prices. They might do that by expanding domestic oil production, withdrawing from the domestic oil reserve, changing fuel export rules or imposing or removing environmental regulations related to fuel.

Search any OPEC sights or reason gas prices go up or down.

This sounds like Democrat cope w/ Biden. It’s funny how those themes repeats itself depending on whose in charge and which side you’re on. Current foreign policy is obviously having a major impact.

Some people might be complaining about gas prices yet they drive often for no specific reason. Quit getting in a car driving around town with no purpose. You would be amazed how much you save. Current foreign policy is a liberal excuse.

I respect your takes on this board but we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on Iran. I think my thoughts on that have been well documented.

So you’re cool w high prices under Trump but probably b!tched incessantly about Biden

There's a huge difference. Gas prices were high under Biden because of his and the left's foolish war on fossil fuels and dependency on foreign oil. Self inflicted and purposely to make fuel consumption painful in a push for the destructive Green New Deal. It was designed to be long term and to get worse.

Gas prices are high now because of what Trump is doing to Iran and what should have been done decades ago. Now or later it was destined to happen. The cost is temporary pain at the pump for the good and safety not just for America, but the world.

The conflict will be over soon enough and with other deals, such as with Venezuela, gas prices will inevitably come down. Personally, I think it will be significant and relatively soon. It will also be totally worth putting Iran in check.

There's no questioning the favorable path of Trump's versus the status quo and the path of the left. One of the two had/has to happen. Which of the two do you choose? And before you say neither, you know that's the wrong answer. We all would pick neither, but that's living in denial.

Also consider on top of the left's path to ending the use of fossil fuels, we also get open borders, mass illegal immigration, the fight against capitalism and the continued destruction of our country. Is the right perfect? Hell no. What system is? We do know one thing, free market, capitalism, closed borders and tough on crime has been the best in the history of the world.

The exact opposite of what today's left wants for us.

Two choices. I choose freedom. 🇺🇸

There’s merit to his fossil fuel policy but post pandemic and primarily the Ukraine/Russia war is what accelerated it to levels similar to what we’re seeing today. I agree there was a coordinated strategy to phase out fossil fuels entirely as a long term strategy, but that was not the primary driver of the $5 gas surge that’s been consistently referenced here. Prior to Ukraine/Russia, it was a ~$3.50 average.

Based on your own rationale, it comes back to if you agree w/ war in Iran or not. Many here obviously do, but most do not. It’s a self inflicted wound w no clear end game strategy; whereas, we did not initiate Ukraine/Russia and it was put into motion many years prior. Although, I disagreed with our involvement there as well and still do. I thought I was voting for no more wars in 2024. Nevertheless, I said this when the Iran war began but we have zero control when this ends. We can say it’ll be over soon or after midterms or in a couple weeks, but that’s all conjecture at this point. I have heard a 100 different timelines since it began and here we are, so I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would believe it’s going to be over “soon”.

When I look at right vs left, I see a lot of the same outside of social culture BS, which I just don’t put a lot of energy behind. Immigration, lower taxes, and domestic energy policies is what I still align with, but the cons outweigh any motivation for me to support what they’re trying to sell.
