He didn’t say everyone, dumba$$….quit making **** up! He specifically said “$800, $900, $1000/month” which applies to more than just your incorrectly claimed “extreme minority”.

Illegals don’t deserve one penny of tax money. Those that work shouldn’t need handouts & those capable of working but choose not to……can f’ck right off.
Fair enough...you didn't say everyone gets $800–$1,000 and I didn't say you did. My point was that Rubio presented $800, $900 and $1,000 as the comparison point for someone who worked for 40 years, when that's not remotely representative of the typical retired worker, like not even close--it's a manipulation point. So, I'll correct my wording for ya: it's a minority, not an "extreme minority." In 2025, 13.6% of new retired-worker awards were under $1,000, and only 5.8% were $800–$999. The average, though, was about $2,086.

But that still doen't addres the BS Rubio's comparison is trying to get away with...he's putting a retiree's SS benefit (the lowest example he could find) on one side and the combined value of several different government programs on the other, then presenting the comparison as though someone just walked in from Cuba and got a $1,500 monthly check. Admit it. That's what you thought, isn't it...but you dodged it by saying "not one penny" LOL

And speaking of this "Walked in from Cuba"...you just said "illegals" when Marco wasn't even talking about them--AT ALL. ROTFL. If you're going to post a tweet, you should make some sort of attempt to understand what you posted. Here's what Rubio actually said...he described someone who had "just got here from Cuba" three months earlier, was 29, didn't work, and was receiving $1,500 in benefits "because they are refugees." (not illegals)

If you want to cut off benefits to legal refugees too, then just say that. If you want to close the door on all immigrants, then just say that and be done with ’em. At least we'd be arguing about the actual policy you want instead of pretending Rubio's anecdote was about “illegals” when it wasn't. Geebus.

We're actually talking about legal Cuban refugees. Don't ask me why PedMaller tried hijacking your illegals thread with his foolishness. Ask him.

If you'd like me to hug my legal Cuban refugee, though, I'll see if I can find one next time I'm in Florida. ;)

Oh, and PedMaller, you're all worked up about roughly 0.1% of the U.S. population and about 0.7% of Florida's population, BTW. That's using the FY2023 Cuban + Haitian entrant arrivals--349,149 nationally & 164,966 in Florida.

That sounds awfully familiar to another low-percentage occurrence you typically get worked up about. Maybe there are some higher-percentage things worth getting triggered over. Like at least 25% of American girls experiencing child sexual abuse, about 1 in 3 women experiencing IPV in their lifetime, or alcohol-impaired driving accounting for roughly 30% of traffic deaths.

Why are you so triggered over all these 1% things?

“Illegals don’t deserve one penny of tax money. Those that work shouldn’t need handouts & those capable of working but choose not to……can f’ck right off.”

I never claimed he was referring to illegals…..I gave my thoughts on welfare/hand-outs for all cases, so let me try again in simpler terms:

Illegals- No hand outs
Those working(citizens/refugees)- Shouldn’t need handouts
Those capable of working, but don’t- No hand outs
Those not capable of working- Situation dependent

Geebus it’s painful having to translate for retards!

We were discussing your response to Rubio's Cuban-refugee example, and immediately after talking about that you said, "Illegals don't deserve one penny of tax money. Those that work shouldn't need handouts..." So I naturally understood that as your position on the people Rubio was talking about. You moved the goal posts.

Fine. We can piviot, but don't turn that into me not understanding you. I was responding to the context of YOUR post. Sooooo, if we're moving on, we can address the actual position I believe you're laying out in YOUR pivot (correct me if I'm wrong):

Illegals = no benefits.
Working citizens/refugees = shouldn't need benefits.
Able-bodied people who don't work = no benefits.
People unable to work = situation dependent.

If so, I don't necessarily disagree with every part of your (cleaned up) view points. But your "those who work shouldn't need handouts" is a pretty broad statement. Plenty of working Americans qualify for government assistance because having a job doesn't necessarily mean their income is sufficient to meet basic needs.

So I'm perfectly happy to discuss your actual policy position(s). Just don't confuse me responding to the context YOU created with me misunderstanding your position...it's disingenuous. And I see you keep dodging my direct comments/questions regarding Rubio's original intent. Why do you think he chose the smallest percentages of American SS recipients in his comparison? Do you think his framing was intilectually honest?

Here's how he could have framed it if he wasn't trying to get an emotional reaction:

“I've heard examples of recently arrived Cuban refugees receiving a combination of Medicaid, food assistance, children's health coverage and refugee cash assistance whose total value can exceed the Social Security benefits received by some low-income retirees who have worked and paid into the system for decades. I think we need to examine whether that disparity is appropriate, how long those benefits last, who qualifies for them, and whether the current system creates the right incentives.

I'm not saying a typical retiree gets only $800 a month, nor am I saying a newly arrived refugee receives a $1,500 monthly cash check. I'm saying there are cases where the combined value of temporary assistance can exceed the Social Security benefit of some longtime workers, and I think that's worth discussing.”

I posted a tweet from someone else & CLEARLY added my general thoughts on welfare & handouts.

His example was that SOME refugees are getting more in handouts than some long-term workers get in SS….which to any sane person is complete bs. My added comments were that I don’t believe ANYONE who is capable of working needs handouts.

And I would never write anything like you suggested. Unlike you lightly-employed libtards, I have an actual job & don’t have time to clarify for idiots.

What else is funny is that Trump and Kakert look pretty similar as well. Both are over weight and have a bit of a clueless look on their face like they are a bit slow.

Man, you're all in arguing against positions I never took. ...unless you can point to ANY post I've made stating illegals should get $$.

My original response to you had two separate points:

1. Rubio used a very low-end, and statistically rare SS example to make his comparison. The average retired-worker benefit is about $2,086, while $800–$999 represents 5.8% of new retired-worker awards in 2025. I called the comparison intellectually dishonest because it makes an unusual case look representative. Do you agree or disagree?

2. When you responded, you shifted the discussion from Rubio's legal Cuban-refugee example to just your position "illegals don't deserve one penny." I pointed out that those are different categories. Then you back-tracked saying your statement was just your general position on welfare, and fine, I've accepted your clarification.

So I'm not really sure what on earth you're still arguing with me about. I never once said illegal immigrants should get taxpayer benefits. You keep trying to make that the issue because it's apparently easier to argue with than the points I actually made. I'm pretty much done commenting on that dadgum topic.

Soooo, on to your new Rufo post? Awesome!

"A family of five can receive $100K per year in welfare benefits" sounds considerably different once you look at what's actually being counted. CA does allow some benefits to go to US-citizen children in households where the parents are "illegals"...the undocumented parents themselves are generally ineligible for CalWORKs.

CA also currently provides full Medi-Cal to children under 19 regardless of immigration status, while adult undocumented enrollment has already been frozen for new applicants as of January 2026.

And CAPI (the cash program Rufo cites) is not a program that simply hands money to undocumented immigrants. It's limited to aged, blind or disabled noncitizens who meet specific immigration-status, income and resource requirements.

I guess we can dig further into $100K claim but "the maximum combined value of various benefits and services potentially available to different members of a hypothetical five-person household" isn't the same thing as "an illegal immigrant family gets $100k a year in welfare."

Do you see the difference? It's the same darn problem I've been pointing out from the beginning...you gotta look at what the number actually represent before getting worked up about it. When people push out these tweets they NEED you to get triggered. And don't worry, the left does this crap too. Just look at Greenland...the lefties got their panties wadded because Trump actually accomplished something good for America. While I can't stand him, I can recognize good policy.

That’s a good question. But let’s throw out a little scenario. Let’s say thousands of pet dogs were dying from being attacked by monkeys and 5 horses who were not involved in the attacks but interfered with humans trying to restrain the attacking monkeys died as a result.
Would you constantly talk about the 5 horses that died or would you talk about all the pet dogs that died from the attacking monkeys?
Would you say the monkeys should be allowed to stay close to the dogs where they could attack at any point or would you try to remove the monkeys and take them back to where they came from and wouldn’t be killing your pet dog?
You’ll say it’s a dumb analogy but the truth is, many on here are caring more about the 5 horses and the monkeys that haven’t attacked than they are the thousands of pet dogs.

Gibbs, I get what you're trying to say w/ your analogy, and yes, we should care about Americans being victimized by criminal illegal immigrants. I've never said otherwise.

I'm certainly not for abolishing ICE. I've said repeatedly I'm for better training, better screening and accountability...and I think serious criminal offenders should be identified and removed. But we should also be honest about the actual crime data. NIJ-funded research found undocumented immigrants had lower criminal arrest rates than US-born citizens, including substantially lower rates for violent, drug and property offenses in Texas (where I am). Another NIJ study found no significant association between the estimated unauthorized-immigrant population and arrest rates after accounting for other factors.

That's really my bigger point. I'm not saying those issues don't matter. I'm saying the attention given to them should bear some relationship to their actual scale. Would you agree or disagree? ...we can talk about illegal immigration, transgender issues, men competing in womens sports, etc., w/o turning every exceptional case into evidence the entire country is under siege. Do you not see the fear tactics being used to manipulate the MAGA base into unwaivering, unquestioning support? And before you say, "what about the left!?" I'm less concerned with a party I was never affiliated with, than my own.

If I may "both sides this" for the sake of arguement...the right does this with immigration and culture-war issues, while the left can do the same darn thing with isolated examples of bad ICE conduct. Me? I'd rather look at the actual frequency, severity and evidence for each problem instead of letting the loudest anecdote determine how important it is. The problem is, any time I do this I'm blasted as a libtard (over here) and on the other board, yes, I've been accused of being a MAGA (@RagnarLothbrok and @hawkeyetraveler can attest to that). ..and look at all the other names I'm called over here? The military gave me thick skin.

So yes, let's deal with the criminals. Lock down the border. Enforce the laws. Reform ICE where it's warranted. But let's not confuse "there are dangerous people in this population" with "this population is dangerous." make sense?

Nice thesis….hopefully all that wasted time at least got you some college credit!

Mine is much simpler….there’s no reason for illegals or their families to get ANY tax money. They don’t like it? Then feel free to go back home where you belong.

Legal refugees with ANY adult in the household capable of working shouldn’t get anything either. If none can work, then maybe some support for a limited period & then you libtards can feel free to support them.

And yes…..the Greenland deal was yet another YUGE win for Trump! 🇺🇸
