Biggest thing he misses at LSU? - without question is the football.
Said RU does not get what college football can do - with a win on Saturday at LSU, he can get $50M in donations on Monday.
Other sports don’t do this - it is all about football.

But that really did not get rolling until we were 6-0 and heading into the Pitt game. We didn't crack the rankings until the 4th or 5th game, and it was the buildup to our 9th game against an unbeaten Louisville team that really got the frenzy going.

Tate's level of involvement in sports (I guess you could call it SEC mentality?) is totally different from anything I've seen from an RU prez before. Still not totally used to it. My friends and I who are big sports fans/RU alums have a running gag going in our RU group chat about Tate constantly forgetting he's the president of the whole school and not just the AD. I guess it's the Northeast in us.

Leaving parties and politics out of the discussion, NJ's Senator has some good points, and the discussion back and forth is interesting on how players area getting scapegoated for soaring costs, all while some will turn a blind eye to coach compensation. Bringing "capitalism" and "free market" into the discussion seems misplaced when we are purportedly considering money spent by State Universities?

Like you’re just a surface level thinker at I’d expect a Rutgers alum to actually use their brain. This is the first season where he has actual resources, for 6 years he had to fight against Hobbs and get 0 deport from the school or the AD, playing at a massive disadvantage NIL wise. Now we are 3 games into him having real resources to compete and you don’t wanna see what he can do with a full recruiting class of that kinda money? It will be a disaster because they are using explicit numbers. I pointed out that if that amendment is passed as well as the bill, we will have potentially 50 coaches who need to be grandfathered in or will take a pay cut. It also sets the maximum number of teams for a conference at 19 because they want to keep the P4 Conferences AS IS (moving from a Major Conference to another will require the school to be independent for 3 seasons before joining another conference). There are 138 teams in FBS and 10 Conferences. Roughly 10 or more FCS teams come up to FBS every decade. We will either have a lot of independents or eventually need to add Conferences. This should be a percentage and the P4 should have 45% -- 55% of the teams in FBS.
