I can't say I've ever seen the 15 yarder called. I'm sure it's probably happened and I don't recall it, but it's exceedingly rare.It is never called, except against Beamer teams.
I saw it called in a game last year. (Sorry, I can't remember the participants). While the sideline judge was running down the sideline following a play, a member of the coaching staff was in his way and they collided. Penalty called.I can't say I've ever seen the 15 yarder called. I'm sure it's probably happened and I don't recall it, but it's exceedingly rare.
that was the most problematic part of it all, in my opinion. When was the last time you saw a penalty in a football game for which nobody on an ESPN production crew could find any video of the incident? I've seen plenty of phantom calls (at least two in one game against LSU), but even then, they had film of the interaction that generated the purported penalty.So... I watched the broadcast of the game over the last 2 nights.
The TV crew said the production team was looking at it to see if they could pull it up and then it was never addressed again.
Usually, for calls like that, the TV broadcast will show it. That they couldn't find it, I find very interesting. If someone on the sideline impeded or ran into a Side Judge, I would think it would have been pretty easy to find on the tape.
Its weird that something like that was called, and it wasn't obvious what it was for.
The fact that Beamer wasn't going ballistic at that call kind of supports my assumption that he was the cause of the sideline infraction.that was the most problematic part of it all, in my opinion. Possibly. Your memory appears to be better than mine.Texas vs UGA? I vaguely recall it, and think it was UGA at least.
