Sounds like the staff had to shuffle their schedules a bit to accommodate some recruiting. I don't hate them waiting another week TBH. gives time for the post visit high to wear off and come back and reaffirm all the positive feelings. My take on it is, CD knows Iowa is the place for him as far as a basketball fit--team, coaches and development. His family is super important to him so staying close to home is a big draw also. I personally feel like he knows for his development and his future, Iowa is the place for himSecond thoughts? (I hope).

Saw on ESPN.com that 9 of top 15 pgs in the 2027 class have committed in last 2 weeks.
Msu,OSU, Creighton and seton hall landed pgs in that top 15, leaving only 4 uncommitted.
If CD goes elsewhere I suspect Ben will probably move on to class of 2028 for pg.
The BIG is going to be tough sledding for hawks with current nil system....money matters.

I said the same thing from the beginning and got roasted on here…..
I think that some on here, myself included, have enormous confidence in Ben. I know that I personally have the first real glimmer of hope in landing CD, more than I've had in the pursuit of high value recruits during the Fran Era. By no stretch of the imagination is this a done deal, and that's a real possibility, but I'm still clinging to that hope as best I can. Only time will tell.
How many years has our recruiting moved on to next year? A lot of misses under Fran. Ben has been bringing in 4 star talent, now he needs to get a five star.

Ben will take Iowa to the highest obtainable level. Not only on the court but recruiting wise. We’re about to see what are resources truly are. I thought if we got 80% of the way there Iowa would get him. I’m not even sure we can get that close, unfortunately.
I’m starting to think the Iowa fanbase/Boosters just don’t care enough about the men’s program. We’ve got a top level coach now. Zero excuses.

Sounds like Iowa made their final pitch but he's still taking his visits. Every week that goes by, every visit that he takes, makes Iowa's chances get smaller and smaller.
Jaxson Davis was who I thought we had the best chance with, now that chance has past. Not surprised, all the media has talked about is Daughtry for months. Why would any other top guard consider us?

If we do.not land CD,all is not lost in the portal era. Ben can still grab a quality pg on open market.

One from North Scott going to ISU.
One from Des Moines United going to Houston,which is the second year in row that kelvin sampson has landed a top 25 recruit from Des moines United.
I was hoping that hawks might profit from a prep school bb factory in Des Moines...not so far
Just tough to compete with southern schools with deep pockets.

It seems like moms desire for him to stay close to home is becoming a higher hurdle to clear. The offers are pretty similar, havent' heard of anything outlandish
I remember when I went to Arizona to school, my Mom cried for days. Best decision I ever made, you grow up quickly when you are on your own. McKenna said, she calls home daily but those calls will become less as the season gets rolling and new friends are made.
Cayden's Mom should let him make his own decision, but if she wants him close, that probably will be the outcome.
Exactly. When he’s in the NBA there’ll be no choice anyway.
The simple solution is to change where home is for mom and dad. Easily and frequently done these days.
