Colandrea did not set the schedule, but did hold up his end of the bargain in terms of quality of play. He is a QB whose natural skill set fits what Holgerson wants to do like a glove. Raiola, while being a talented kid, has a skill set very much unsuited to what DH is good at as a play caller.

You then tried to compare their schedules as the reason why Colandrea was graded out higher. If the schedule is so easy for Colandrea, why don't we see Iowa's qb on that list?

The kid allows Holgerson to use the skill talent in the ways he wants. The backs are involved in the pass game in ways we haven’t seen since Callahan. He gets the ball well to a number of spots on the field. Operationally, especially with respect to what Dana Holgerson wants to do with a play call sheet, AC is an upgrade over Raiola.

Dana has been very creative this year. I'll give him big credit for that. Maybe it's because he has a QB who can do multiple things. I also think he's been more creative with the run game. I think some of that is him but I think GEEP has a lot to do with that as well

Now I'm the first one to complain that he gets a bit cute unnecessarily but so far I'd say he's been calling games better than he has since he's been at Nebraska. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I think the competition for spots is always open. In this case, it was a 2nd year player who got abused by some of the better B1G teams as a freshman vs. a 4th year player with two years of P4 starting experience and one season where he was Mountain West Player of the Year. We might be surprised, but mostly likely will not be.
