I agree you can grab good qbs at those levels, but the price tag is not cheap. Mestemaker is making 3.5 million, Colton Joseph is between 2-2.5, Colandrea is the same, Brown at Auburn is 3 million, Craig at TCU is 2 million...The list continues. Those are not small dollar amounts. Gronowski made what 1-1.5?

The line suggests that Michigan will score 3 TDs ….or 2 TDs and 2 FGs.

Early season judgments are often unreliable but I feel like Iowa’s defense has solidified a bit - I don’t think Michigan’s offense will score 20 points, more like 17 points or less. Can the Hawks score 20 or more? That’s the unknown, a bigger factor IMO.

If we can control the line of scrimmage on defense, I feel fairly confident, Michigan's rush offense has been mid at the best. They are averaging 129 yards from the line of scrimmage. Underwood has the capability to pick the secondary apart, but I don't think he has it between the ears to do it.

I think we'll get the beneficial officiating. The B1G wants to rid itself of Michigan this year, and the bad PR that will come if they make the playoffs. WIth the Western Michigan debacle, no way does the committee let a 10-2 Michigan in. A 10-2 Iowa with win over Michigan would have a better chance.

Will be interesting to see how the crooked officiating goes, Michigan stole a game in front of the whole nation against WMU. They then received pretty beneficial officiating against OU…I think it would be too obvious If they screw Iowa before a national televised game, but you never know. Games look more rigged than I’ve ever seen them this year, especially the SEC.

Yep. Just looked it up. For a typical Saturday game, the first injury report has to be released by 7pm on Wednesday, then another on Thursday, another on Friday, and a final one 2 hours before kickoff.

Oklahoma had 2 penalties called on them in the first half. Michigan had 3.

For the game MIchigan was penalized 11 times for 90 yards vs 9 times for 76 yards for Oklahoma.

I didn't say he wasn't fast. I was responding to the poster who said the skill positions for Michigan would be faster than those from ISU. I just said not likely at running back. Hiter was indeed a top recruit, and sits at second on the Michigan depth chart behind Jordan Marshall. Both play, as through three games Marshall has 34 carries for 135 yards, and Hiter has 24 carries for 83 yards. Marshall is fast, with a reported 40 yard dash time of 4.42. I couldn't find an official 40 yard dash time for Hiter, and don't believe Michigan has posted one. I found recruiting sites that estimate it in the low 4.4's as well. ISU's top back, Aiden Flora has a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.37 and has 38 rushes for 328 yards. Their second back by yards is Arnold Barnes with 19 carreis for 80 yards and a 40-yard dash time of 4.0, but don't know how those were taken. So I am not saying ISU's backs are better than Michigans at all. I was only commenting on speed as reported.

Not sure I agree that Underwood is a QB that will pick a secondary apart at this point in his career. He's more likely to beat teams with his feet/athleticism while making plays on play action and RPOs. I don't see him as someone that is going to beat teams using 3 step and 5 step concepts. Very talented and capable but wildly inconsistent.

should be fine on the right side, starting LT played RT last week...starting LG slid to LT, has started at LT last season...staff emphasis in camp was pass pro, as it was bad last year...underwood does have a bad habit of getting happy feet and leaving clean pockets..honestly he is frustrating to watch, has all the size and talent for a qb that you would create in a lab, but it's obvious that until this past offseason he had never been "coached" to play qb...gets by with God given talent, learning the intricacies of the position on the fly...lots of WOW plays with too many WTF moments..

yeah, I agree. I guess the point I was making is that he has some pretty crazy arm strength, but still makes some incredibly stupid throws into coverage. I am all for him making RPOs, he doesn't have the ability, his read options are where he could be dangerous.
