Have we heard yet, is Hank Brown the starting QB?

I think he has to be with a 12 for 12 line where he was on target even on his swing passes to the running backs which is not actually an easy throw as we see many QBs struggle with it. He seems to be getting the ball quickly to the first main open targets. To me Heck is still throwing behind receivers more, not as accurate overall. But I think Heck can play very well if needed as he has a strong arm, mobility and does go thru his progressions it seems.

I think Lester can start throwing on 1st down more with hopefully great success to back off the defenses and keep pressure off the running game. Even 5 yard gains with quick passes to TEnds are great plays on first down.

I think the depth chart is irrelevant at this point.

Q. Hank seems to have really grown the last three weeks. Where have you seen him grow the most, and is he your starting quarterback moving forward?

KIRK FERENTZ:
Yeah, I guess I’d say he’s our starter. This will be the third time, or today was the third time. He’s helped himself with every opportunity.

We were just talking back in there a little bit about the whole thing. Again, it’s young players. He did not have a great day, I think most of the world noticed, on the open practice back in August. But that was not consistent with what we had seen the first eight or nine practices. Excuse me.

So, that’s why you kind of look at the big picture with people. It doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods right now either. We’re happy with Jeremy, too. I think both of these guys have improved a lot. They’ve worked hard, and they’re both diligent with their work habits and their studying.

Ultimately you have to get out there and do something on the field, too. I think he’s looked a little bit more comfortable with each outing. It wasn’t perfectly smooth last week, but he did some really good things there, too, and just kept us in there where we could win the game in the fourth quarter.

So yeah, it’s ongoing, but so far, so good. Really pleased with what he’s doing.

What happened to the Hank Brown MAGA thread? So I should have started that in the off topic board?
Jurassic Park No GIF

No need to bring it back up either ya dingus. Let the 5 people that replied fight amongst themselves wherever it teleported to.

Yea I’d feel good about Heck stepping in if needed, more so than past few seasons.
Heck is OK if need be. I thought he was supposed to be the one with some wheels, but he was a deer in the headlights getting sacked a couple times IIRC. Brown is clearly the better option overall.

Sarcasm? This was decided before the first game. Appears to be a good choice. I like Heck a lot too! When is the last time we had two competent qbs to play?

Heck is a little snake bit. Get rid of the drops and he's pretty freaking good too! He's a gamer!
