I think it will be something like 17-16 or 20-17. I like the under. I'm concerned Michigan is going to run on us.
Im concerned, Epenesa is going to lose leverage. Michigan's skill is a helluva lot faster than ISU's.
The edge has been a weak spot in both games.
How did Western Michigan handle Michigan's skill? Remember, Michigan really lost that game. Screw job of the century.
Qb has been awful throwing. Plus WMU dominated time of possession 40 to 20. The Michigan qb has Been more effective running for them. Passing #s so fwr 9-17 for 111 vs OU and 12-22 170 vs WMU (47 on Hail Mary and 75 that last drive).
His older brother did too, early in his career at iowa. #GrowingPains
Oklahoma threw way too much. Iowa's game plan will be much closer to what WMU did. Neither team actually rushed for a huge amount but WMU committed to it and was able to keep drives alive late in the game.
experiencing our first cooling of the fall, tomorrow in ann arbor will be rain all day..not sure of the forecast for iowa, but rain would probably lower the score, lol..Michigan has struggled to run the ball with the RB's, oline has been much better at pass pro than running the ball...may be the first time recently that Michigan has the edge in punting, lol..time will tell
wmu is well coached, qb was the returning mac offensive player of the year alongside a 1000 yard RB..moved the chains, played on time, very few penalties and no TO's..Michigan's defense played well but was breaking in new starters at LB and DT, had MA's as was first game playing a new scheme..wmu QB is a duel threat, very heady player..
The talent is there. Epenesa is young and learning. He made some bad decisions vs ISU. He'll make less of them going foward. Bell and Parker will make sure of that.
I expected a bigger line, after they beat OK and we struggled vs ISU. Generally in CFB is about 3.5 for home-field. So Mich is 'favored' by about a point over Hawks. Very interested to see how rest of ISU's season turns out. Maybe Matt Campbell accidentally left his cliff-notes on beating Iowa in the office? 
in today's landscape, surprising he wasn't poached by a P4 team.
There are some studs in FCS that are affordable and would come in and start. The kid Oregon State found at a Mercer threw for 413 yards against Texas Tech Last week( no star ranking out of hs) the WMU kid is savvy and a baller. mestemaker at Okie state was a walk on at north Texas. I think Lester should be scouting the FCS.

The under still looks pretty enticing. I see an ISU type game of 16/17-13...This line infers 20/21-16. I don't really see either team exceeding the 20 point threshold here.

WMU is not FCS they are the same old style Div 1 team like Iowa but not the so called Power 4 conference. The top MAC teams every year are pretty darn salty.
I think the WMU gameplan is the blueprint. With the hope Iowa can convert more explosive runs and mix in some passing opportunities to elevate.

Let Michigan make mistakes on O. Don't try to dictate the game on O. Michigan has very aggressive D play calling. It attacks...and plays mostly man coverage. Run right at them...you will be stopped...but that can work in your favor...let the D start to creep up and then throw over top of it.
UTEP didn't put up big numbers or sustained drives in the first half. But it worked. The reason it didn't work in the second half is the talent gap was just that large.
Gronowski last year? So far I don't see any indication that Hank isn't working. And having a major conference experienced qb returning helps eliminate growing pains the following season. I'm not saying Hank will eclipse 3k any season or even the elusive 300 mark, but with this offensive scheme I don't think he'll ever have to.

I think you upgrade any chance you get and the lower ranks of G6 and FCs have some really good qbs with n affordable price tag. I am not saying Hank won’t work out, I hope like hell he does.

The line suggests that Michigan will score 3 TDs ….or 2 TDs and 2 FGs.
Early season judgments are often unreliable but I feel like Iowa’s defense has solidified a bit - I don’t think Michigan’s offense will score 20 points, more like 17 points or less. Can the Hawks score 20 or more? That’s the unknown, a bigger factor IMO.
I agree you can grab good qbs at those levels, but the price tag is not cheap. Mestemaker is making 3.5 million, Colton Joseph is between 2-2.5, Colandrea is the same, Brown at Auburn is 3 million, Craig at TCU is 2 million...The list continues. Those are not small dollar amounts. Gronowski made what 1-1.5?
