NEWS: Skye Realin granted medical waiver, Victor Voinovich denied for 2026-27 season

A couple of late roster-related stories for Iowa wrestling today:

First, thanks to an initial heads up by one of the fine folks on this message board, I was able to report that Skye Realin would return for the Iowa women after being granted a medical waiver:

On the flip side, IA Wrestle's Ross Bartachek broke the news that Victor Voinovich has been denied his own medical waiver request - which would end his college career on the heels of a 9th place finish at Big Tens this past March, and a 23-12 overall record as a Hawkeye:

Great news for Realin, let's hope she makes it healthy until the NCAA tournament finally. I think we would've won it last year if she had been there even with every break going McKendree's way via injury and DQ bonus points.

Any idea if the men's team will add another person to the roster now? Also, does this mean the women have to cut someone?

Looking at the official roster, Nyla Valencia is still listed and Skye Realin is not so that is 29. So they should be good.

I love Luft but glad Realin got another year. Genuine title threat at her weight, helps our chances at taking back the team title
