I have no idea what the difference between the ISU Hansan is compared to the now PS Hansan is today. I can only go on what I have seen so far this season, and I really don't think he was some sort of allusive back at ISU.

There is a pretty big difference from making someone miss in the open field and making someone miss in the backfield or 3-4 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. So far, I haven't seen Hansan do either. It is really hard to see someone make them miss when you constantly run with your head down.

To me Hansan is looking very mechanical, was he before? I have no idea. It just seems that he's intent on running to the spot the play calls for and without hesitation. I have yet to see him have the patience to set up his blockers or bounce it to an open lane. To date I have seen nothing instinctual about his play.

Will any of that change Saturday. I hope so. I was really hoping he was going to be Kaytron light. But to date I have seen nothing that might suggest that. So far, he's been a good, tough runner who can block and catch. Beyond that we haven't seen much. I think the staff thinks they can win with him and if they can I'm good with it.
I think it’s probably a lot different for Hansen here. This isn’t Ames and the pressure is tenfold here. We don’t settle for just winning, we want to see the team clicking in all facets. I hope the kid can turn it around, but these kids are paid like professionals. If he’s not cutting it, they need to find another RB1 from that room. I think many of us like about Martin is that he look like he had speed, vision, and elusiveness in that bowl game. For as often as we hear it was against the Clemson backups on defense, Martin was also running behind backups on our OL. And those Clemson backups are better than the temple and Marshall starters that Hansen is playing against in the first two games.

If Hansen is the go-to and isn’t dynamic, isn’t the logical conclusion that all of our backs are lousy?

That could very well be. That happened a few years ago right before Allen and Singleton, didn't it? Noah Cain had never really recovered from his injury
Journey Brown overlapped with Cain and could have been great if he didn’t have his heart issue. Those couple of years at RB we were just unlucky.

My take is no matter what the deal is backs need reps to learn how to play behind a certain Oline and be good.

It's rare that a young man steps on the field and just dominates. There are few Curt Warner's or Dorsetts in the world but does seem to be more of those types today than ever before.

IMO and that's all I have to go on here, if you don't have a true #1, in the spring, you pick your guy with the most potential and you start grooming him. Then in the early non competitive games your start giving him the carries getting him the feel and experience come league play so he's ready and not having to wait for mid to late season.

In our current situation I really don't like the rotating of backs when we neither seem to have the talent or the experience. We don't seem to have a bunch of Mike Archies, Steven Pitts or Ambrose Fletchers hanging around the bench. To say nothing of Milne or Witman.

Again, and just my opinion for our particular situation a split backs formation may be an answer. Puts you best blocking back who is also your toughest runner and your best instinct and yards per carry back in the game at the same time. Beck for blocking and short yardage and Q Martin/Peoples for the splash plays. Also, all three of those guys can catch the football out of the backfield. You wouldn't have to live and die with that formation, but it might make for you your best base formation.

These are just my thoughts. Then the other thing might be is the coach hiding his true offense.

You're a waste of time. A legend in your own mind despite no particular expertise.

He didn't "lose vision" between last year and this year. It's a nonsensical claim...too much weight it being put on a few carries. Every player that has ever played missed a read/lane. The better they were the more they missed because they kept playing.
The difference between us made me laugh...thanks for that
I'm not incorrect on this one. No matter how much you want me to be

I am starting to think Lando is a narcissist. Anyone that labels themself a "King" is a good indicator. He argues just to argue and thinks he is never wrong. Then says something along the lines of "anyone that calls for a new RB after 2 games with his prior track record doesn't deserve an opinion" without understanding what people are actually saying or speaking about. Maybe he has reading comprehension issues, i do not know. Maybe anyone that labels themself a "King" does not deserve an opinion and should immediately discredited. I think that's fair.

Most of the posters on here couldn't tell you who was here last year--they primarily know the names of skill position players
If Rap wasn't more involved we'd be hearing complaints but his snap count is high and all TEs are playing
At how many programs is RB4 getting an opportunity?
In how many programs is RB4 as good as RB1?

Not so amazing. TN fits right in with states at the bottom of this list. Our state (NC) legislators like to brag about how attractive we are to business. NC has been at the bottom of this list for the last seven years. Guessing it has something to do with a state’s history of slavery.

Oxfam?

Oxfam is an international confederation of 21 independent non-governmental organizations (NGOs), focusing on the alleviation of global poverty, founded in 1942 and led by Oxfam International. It began as the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief in Oxford, England, in 1942, to alleviate World War Two-related hunger and continued in the aftermath of the war. Oxfam has an international presence with operations in 79 countries and 21 members in the Oxfam Confederation in Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Since 2005, Oxfam International has been involved in a series of controversies as it expanded, especially concerning its operations in Haiti and Chad. There have been criticisms of its management of operations in the UK as well.........................

Core Areas of Advocacy and Slant Alignment

Oxfam’s primary mission is to end global poverty, but the mechanisms it advocates to achieve this goal align closely with progressive economic and social philosophies:

Focus AreaOxfam's Position & AdvocacyPolitical Alignment
Economic PolicyAdvocates for aggressive wealth taxation, closing tax loopholes, corporate regulation, and implementing strict limits on billionaire influence. It opposes measures like Medicaid work requirements.Progressive / Left-wing: Favors wealth redistribution, a robust social safety net, and active government intervention over free-market capitalism.
Social & Climate JusticeIntegrates framework concepts like "gender justice," "climate justice," and systemic anti-racism into its operations and reporting.Progressive: Uses intersectional frameworks to address climate change and systemic inequality.
Global AffairsStrongly advocates for Palestinian humanitarian aid and has historically campaigned against Israeli military blockades and operations.Left / Activist: Focuses on anti-colonial narratives and human rights activism, which has drawn intense pushback from conservative and pro-Israel groups.

⚠️ Key Controversies and Allegations of Bias

Oxfam's aggressive advocacy has repeatedly drawn scrutiny from regulators, governments, and independent watchdogs regarding its political neutrality:

  • UK Charity Commission Censure (2014): The UK's charity regulator formally criticized Oxfam GB for a social media campaign ("The Perfect Storm") that targeted austerity policies. The regulator warned that the campaign could easily be "misconstrued by some as party political campaigning" and urged the organization to protect its public perception of neutrality
  • Cultural and Language Guidelines (2021–2023): Leaked internal training materials and the publication of Oxfam's "Inclusive Language Guide" drew heavy criticism from conservative media. The guide apologized for using English (calling it the language of a "colonising nation") and advised staff to avoid traditional terms like "mother" and "father" in favor of "parent," which critics cited as evidence of an ideological, left-leaning internal culture.
  • Middle East and Gaza Geopolitics: Oxfam’s positioning on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has led to recurring accusations of anti-Israel bias. More recently, reporting indicated internal friction within Oxfam's leadership regarding intense pressure to adopt specific political terminology (such as "genocide") regarding Gaza.

Guessing you weren't on the old board...or hoping since you didn't get the joke

No reading comprehension issues...just dealing with people being unreasonable

Let me offer a counter proposal. I happen to think that the WR room and definitely the TE room are more talented than our RB room by far. Putting 2 backs in the formation is keeping a more talented playmaker on the sidelines. Today TEs are often utilized somewhat like fullbacks of yesterday. TEs have evolved from hands in the dirt to Hback to be schemed as they are Today. They are really flex backs.

Yea I was wondering that too. I thought he was from 247 🤷‍♂️
Nope, he was just Lando on the rivals site. It was the same type of schtick there as well. He’s not a bad guy, but he becomes so repetitious (in a neurodivergent manner) that you end up having to put him on ignore after he ends up hijacking entire threads.

The bigger concern is if nobody explodes against Buffalo.
An old adage in football "if you have 2 QB, you have none." At this point it could be that the coaches know what they (don't) have. IMO, exploding against Buffalo should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

I want to see us rush for about 250 yards but Buffalo's pass defense is well a sieve. I don't want to see us bashing our head against a wall when a window is open.
Lets just have a very effective offense in both pass and run and win by 30+

I seem to notice fans are difficult to satisfy. Now that the WR and passing game is "fixed" we need a drum to beat. I have a feeling that we might be discussing the running game throughout the season and rendering help to the coaching staff 😬.

Thats because we have been so starved of a functioning passing attack it all seems like a bright and shiny new toy.
