My former colleagues find it difficult and exhausting trying to make sense of the current situation, the whole blessed thing.

To some extent yes. Colleges increasingly fail to equip many students with the skills and training needed to succeed in the world. This comes at an exorbitant cost, a 1-2 punch. AI will only make this worse.

A verrrry long time ago,(1961) I was in the military. A thing called USAFI gave me an opportunity to finish high school and take college courses. I really only have an 8th grade formal education. I don't wish to coop this thread, but Thank the Lord and this wonderful country, I was able to retire at a relatively young age (50). I am humbled and thankful for the many opportunities this country provided. At 86 I remain a loving and proud American.
