Do you think KF will go for it on 4th and short near midfield early in games now

I didnt like them going for it there. I know the old adage is if you take a chance early and it doesnt work then you have most of the game to make it up.

But we could have pinned down ISU again that time and held them to get good field position again.

Until our run game shows a stead ability to avg near 5 ypcarry I would lean on field position and the defense.

Take out the 34 yard run by ISU and yes ISU was getting 3-5 yards on many carried but were really driving the field via the run

It depends entirely on the team executing it. Last year we should have gone for it a bunch if it was 2 or less. This year we suck so bad in short yardage I’m more inclined to just punt.

Yes, or when the QB sees 6 defensive linemen all crowded in then slide down the LOS to find a hole, or check to a wide handoff to your Rback

Yeah. Lester I think now understands that this isn't last year's offensive line where it didn’t matter if the defense crowded the LOS. Last year those same plays would have resulted in 2-3 yards minimum. This year not so much.
