thinking of sending the LSU football team to Oxford on a C-130 along with the La Nat. Guard. And joking with the possibility of a F-16 flying with them. LOL..... it just keeps getting better by the minute and while I don't normally watch LSU or Ole Miss games, this one, I may have to.....

"Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has joked about sending LSU coach Lane Kiffin and his team to Oxford, Mississippi, using military aircraft and possibly the National Guard to ensure their safety ahead of the Tigers’ SEC opener against Ole Miss

The comments came in the wake of Kiffin’s return to Oxford after leaving Ole Miss for LSU before the end of last season. LSU entered the 2026 season ranked No. 7, and Ole Miss No. 8, making the matchup a top SEC preview. However, tensions were high due to Kiffin’s departure — he left after an 11‑1 season, two days after the final game, and even tried to recruit some of his former players to join LSU.

Landry told ESPN that while the joke about an F‑16 for Kiffin and a C‑130 for the team was exaggerated, his office had already coordinated with Mississippi officials to ensure tight security for the LSU delegation. He emphasized that the goal was to “play in complete Southern hospitality” and have a great game, despite knowing the atmosphere could be hostile".

This feels like one that Ole Miss wins. They care far more than LSU about this game in a normal year, and this just adds to it. It's at their place. then factor in just how lucky they seem to get in these situations. They don't have the better team or coaching staff, so they really have no business winning. But, they probably will.

I disagree. You fail to consider just how petty LK can and will be. He can out petty the pettiest of them all, which is om. He knows exactly what their strengths are and all of their weaknesses. I feel like he will be able to shut them down by containing Chambliss and Lacey, and will be able to score on them. This will be very similar as to when he took om into Knoxville, but likely more lopsided.

I didn't fail to consider it. I just give more weight to OM being extremely lucky.

But, I hope you're right. On paper, this shouldn't even be close. But here we are with essentially a pick em game at the toilet bowl that is Vaught Hemingway.

Sholl did work for Danny Merlinz in 2018

And if Kiffin can find any way to needle and 17 with Pistol Pete, he gonna do it. Similar to Arnold and Lou in Pumping Iron

Win or lose OM is going to embarrass themselves. They can’t help it. The videos and social media post coming out post game will be better than the game.
I don't think that they are capable of being self-aware enough to be embarrassed about anything. That's part of being Ole Miss.

Unfortunately, this is exactly how I see it.

And I can’t wait to see all of the junk from their fans that flood social media. It is a night game so they will be have been in the grove all day getting hammered.

This Sh^t show is getting old, and I really can not decide what is more palatable, a LSU win or an Ole Miss win. One feeds Lane's ego and provides more exposure for him, and the other feeds the red ego........Alas, I will be a "Go Tigah" briefly.

I’m wearing purple Saturday night, no doubt. Kiffin is going to crash and burn eventually anyway but this game will absolutely crush OM to a point that they might not recover for years.

Trust me. An LSU win will be MUCH more palatable.
