Ok, beat N Iowa first, we should and I hope by 20+ pts.

Mich, very good defense but their offense is not a super well oiled machine yet. A winnable game for Iowa if it can run the ball, move the chains and win the redzone.

OSU will be out for blood the rest of the season trying to reclaim #1 but I have watched Ryan Day make some very aggressive 4th down go for it plays on the road that can hurt his team. Hawks need a pass rush by the Mich game and to get the run game going also. We can pass it if the run game is going

Washington does not seem as strong as their ranking and we will have 3 more games to see how they are doing.

I am going with a 5-1 record after the Wash game

potential is there if we play mentally tough fb with poise. yesterday was a good sign in that respect.
on paper the offense has the talent but is underperforming while the defense isn't talented (outside of buffington) but is overachieving. the offense will have to double production (compared to yesterday) at least the first 3 b1g games

I’m putting OSU down as a loss, have little hope of Hank functioning in the big house and see Washington as very beatable, they look bad against horrible teams like Utah State. My surprise loss from bigten is not Illinois but Wisconsin, who is much improved.

If Hank is in the big house have more problems than functioning since the game is at Kinnick

Michigan looked way better against OU than WMU 🥴

My confidence in that game dropped a little.

OSU made some bone headed mistakes but still looked really good.

Udub doesn’t scare me.

My fear of Washington is how poorly the Hawks play out west. Isn't it a Friday night game to boot?

Yea of course the west coast trip is a worry but UW is a team with problems right now. They are very beatable. OSU and UM at home, not games I see as winnable. Hank at qb in the big house scares me

Hey 85, the OSU game is at Kinnick so anything can happen.

Iowa will be a dog vs Washington and they usually play like one on the West coast.

The team we saw yesterday isn't good enough to beat Michigan or stay in the game with tOSU. Lots of work to do.
Yeah. Iowa has very little chance of beating OSU. I'd feel a lot better about their chances with UW and UM if those games were at home. I wish the venues for those 3 games were reversed. The schedule makers did Iowa no favors.

After last nights game, the reality has set in that the low ceiling I feared is accurate.

I think there’s a strong likelihood the Hawks are 3-3 when they hit the road at Minnesota and then have Wisky at home. 2 games that likely decide if the season is decent or a huge disappointment.

Michigan will be a defensive dog fight. Points will be at a premium. Might have the same gameplan as we did against ISU, contain the dual threat QB and force him to make tough throws. Offense will need to move the ball and score, and the Special Teams may play a key part, just like it did against ISU.

OSU? Pray for a miracle.

Washington is looking more manageable. They seem to struggle against tough defenses. But we need to do something to get some pressure on the QB. Definitely not a hopeless game, but Kirk's west coast curse may do us in.

I now think @ Washington is the most winnable. Michigan hasn't been great, but their defense has been really good. I think our dline has a ways to go.

Or it was just one game that we survived. Think of the positives. We won the despite our perceived strength of the team (O line and running game) being a dud last night. Our qb play may very well have won us a game instead of losing it.

Point being while we were disappointed the running game wasn’t what we wanted and expected we showed we can win without it. I don’t think those guys forgot how to block in one week…

The biggest challenge will be playing on a short week after tOSU on the West Coast. Brutal scheduling.

If Iowa can't beat UNI by more than 20, well, WOW. Iowa should win by 50 or more, even with the stubborn, conservative old man on the sidelines. UNI has lost to Eastern Washington. UNI is an FCS school. Iowa should not be playing the likes of NIU or UNI. Mix the initials around any way you want. That's an embarrassing level of "competition" for a team like Iowa. But that's a much better way to win a lot of games than playing half-way decent programs. KF knows that much for sure.

No, they didn't forget. But maybe they never really knew how to block. I mean Northern Illinois is one of the worst teams in the entire nation of Southern Canada (or is it Northern Mexico?). Either way, you learn nothing about your team playing dregs like Northern Illinois. ISU totally destroyed Iowa's O-line. Iowa couldn't do a thing, although those QB sneaks were things of beauty, certainly.

Beating up on UNI, an FCS squad that lost to Eastern Washington, will again prove nothing.

I wouldnt say the clowns destroyed the hawk OLine. ISU was very much trying to penetrate and shoot gaps with at least 7 or 8 in the box. Some defenses try to just neutralize at the LOS.

With ISU really trying to penetrate our run game didnt take a lot of big tackles for losses but didnt have any big gains. I think our run game averaged about 3.2 ypc which is not even good, 4 ypc is good and 5+ ypc is great.

I think the hawks missed by not throwing more on first downs with easy high percentage passes to the TEnds to get to 2nd and short or even a first down. Need to back off the ISU lbkrs
