Noticed that they have ESL in 6A. Was their waiver to play 7A denied or will they get moved up come playoff time? Also has JCA success factored up to 6A, that doesn't seem correct.

IHSA has them at 227 boys and doubled to 454. Then multiplied to 749. But why would they be multiplied? I thought you had to have playoff wins or games. They don’t have any.
so, 454 would be used for 3A. What am I missing?

All non boundary schools are multiplied now. If they haven't won a playoff game they can apply for a waiver to get rid of the multiplier. No clue whether they applied for the waiver.

Does anyone know if BR wins 7A that they will be elevated to 8A?

Yes and yes. They don't need to win, two trophies in consecutive years in the same class gets you bumped up for the next 2 years.

I’m guessing Leo did not apply for the multiplier waiver unfortunately. Whether 3A or 4A, they can make some noise or have an early exit depending on their draw.

They'll be fine. Some posters were telling us how they beat a 6A team this year and beat a 8A team recently.

Haven't seen them play and know nothing about them, but why the potential hype with Leo? The 3 games they've won are against teams with a combined 1 win. Using that trend they likely beat De La Salle and that would be their last remaining win of the season.

Leo playing a CCL schedule has kept them out of the playoffs for a long time. I think they could compete with a majority of 3A or lower playoff teams. I honestly thought they’d be 2A with a waiver. I guess I should’ve paid closer attention.

I guess we'll see what they do this week when they play a good CCL team, but so far the only CCL team they've beat is 0-4 Viator.

As the season goes on it will be interesting to see how coaches handle games with the expanded playoffs. If a team locks up a bye in week 7 or 8 will starters get more rest? Will the game plan get much more conservative? Will teams that are on the bye bubble go for broke to get a bye or not worry about playing the extra game?

How is that Rochester is listed with only 3 victories when they have a forfeit win over Eisenhower?
How is it MacArthur came into their contest against Rochester with a 3-0 record and still sits at 3-0 after losing 50-20?

Nevermind, just answered my own question. MacArthur, in typcial fashion, did not report the score as of yet. Just like they had some troller posting they won 30-27 on Maxpreps.

And heck, I dont think Batavia will ever schedule a 4a school ever again.

Sucks that both a. Maxpreps still has "anyone with a free registered account" can post scores being a thing and b. people haven't learned that you can't trust maxpreps for anything because c. half the scorers leave at half or in 3rd so games sit incomplete for hours after it's completion. Wild that all 3 of those issues are still a thing in 2026... But then again someone said it best just above me, it's HS football, not the NFL... so maybe I expect too much lol

Like you said it's HS football. Too many games for any one site to accurately keep up with all that. Even the IHSA site uses MaxPreps scores, but does preface that they are unofficial.
