It’s odd for sure but that doesn’t discount the others who agree with him. Nearly every senior researcher believes that there is a non-zero chance of human extinction over the next decade and it’s universally agreed upon that AI is advancing faster than we anticipated.

The statement "Nearly every senior researcher believes that there is a non-zero chance of human extinction over the next decade" is saying exactly ..... nothing. Of course there is a non zero chance of anything happening, except breaking the laws of physics.

AI is advancing faster than we anticipated? The sky is blue.

This is freaking fabulous watching the competition going on between these companies. They are moving at lightning speed and we will all benefit from it.

New medicines, new processes, new luxuries all will result from these competitions. We are moving at incredible pace and it is fascinating to watch.

Don't let any one country, or company control anything. Don't let any one entity get regulatory capture. Foster an environment of fair competition.

All I can say is thank God we don't have Kamala in charge!

Sacks is a crook. Because he’s not on the cap table and Elon has a failing competitor, he is using his authority to disrupt Anthropic. They have a very strong case for suing this admin and if there are serious people in the govt, they will win.
Huge fan of Sacks. Very smart dude.

Propping up the entire world economy on a handful of companies who don’t have control of said product doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all.

Nothing could go poorly at all.

We all sold our soul to the growth devil when DOGE was rejected by both parties.

You either had to cut spending and entitlements or we have to grow our way out of it.

Doesn't matter if you don't like it, it's too late. There is no going back. We either get the growth or we will fall as a nation. Our finances are that bad.

Whats interesting to me is the spread between the US government debt and corporate debt (think hhyperscalers) is as tight as it has been in 20 years.

no technology has ever blown up in our faces and caused serious damage ever. Whenever dangerous technology is invented no governance was ever needed to ensure the guardrails are in place.

we didn't turn the entire operation of the federal govt over to elon and his edgelords

so now our only hope is growth that is predicated on making sure this brand new technology has absolutely no guiderails or regulation whatsoever

they just want to escape any reliance on the masses and enslave them into their service. Easy to do with AI weaponized drones to mow the lawn of 'insurgents' our future is ******* bleak with these obvious a holes in charge.

We have had technology to end the world for what 75 years now? And it hasn't happened has it?

Regulation will come at the appropriate time. The appropriate time is not when a couple of underlings express feelings.

I am just glad the clown Kamala nor incompetent Joe is in charge. We would be in a world of hurt.

He’s a joke in Silicon Valley. Destroyed zenefits. Yammer was the worst MSFT acquisition in history. Terrible investor outside of the dealflow that Elon gave him.

If he wasn’t a lapdog for Thiel and musk, you would’ve never heard his name.

DOGE saved zero dollars and failed miserably on its own.

Has zero to do with the AI bubble.

But sure blame someone else for the problem you support.

Anthropic has literally been warning us about this since day 1. It’s the reason they left open ai and started the company.

Do yourself a favor and read the METR analysis of the hugging face hack.

These grifters are all looking for a handout. The gig is up, companies are concluding that 1) the tech is junk, 2) it costs more to fix its eff-ups than it would cost to do it right the first time and 3) nobody is going to pay for this when the VC money dries up

They’re angling for a bailout imo

MAGA might actually buy that Elon truly believes that AI developers should hit the brakes because “it’s dangerous” and not because the music is stopping on the game of financial musical chairs and he’s looking for the government to give him a seat
