Need to figure out a pass rush.

Bend but don’t break will suit us fine though. Saw some flashes from guys but nothing consistent. I see some potential. Maybe we can develop some guys. That stunt by Gillette was nice.

Best secondary we’ve ever had. Jett Johnson could have sealed this one earlier.

Defense still hasn’t forced a TO. We had a good season pre Covid where we did not have very many forced turnovers and maybe did not even recover a fumble all season long.

The kicking game is really good.

That punt by Pulliam was insane. The PR overran it like a little league playing CF for the first time- he was not ready for it.

Offense is legit and OL is a pleasant surprise so far

I think when we went up 21-3 we pretty much just took them out of their game plan.

We’ve got some deficiencies still but I thought that was a masterful gameplan by Arnett. He knew that team had zero explosiveness and dared them to try and dink and dunk us to death and knew they couldn’t do that either. When you’re playing a mediocre offense, make them have long drives. Every plan is another opportunity for an offensive penalty, a sack, a TFL, or a turnover. We wore more than content to let them run however many plays they desired.

And then what can you say about Kamario? We have another Dak-type generational talent with this guy. And the rest of the offense brought their A game too. Probably the best that Fluff has ever looked as a Bulldog.

There were also some pretty wide open receivers when again we knew they were passing. Good thing the Gophers are a running team. When we play a pass heavy team we will need to score a bunch.

They absolutely ate up the first quarter on that drive. But, we teabagged them from there on out.

Way too many completions in 2nd half but lack of pass rush had a good deal to do with that. That needs to be addressed this week.
Offense in 3rd Qrt was abysmal, we finally got to pushing them around in the 4th Qrt.
Bad snap on the 4th Qrt FG attempt kept us from going over the 40 point mark.
Have no idea what SC has but I would say it’s a very winnable game.

I mean, I think we know it’s not good enough for us to be a good team, but the opportunity to win 7 or 8 without any crazy upset is there depending on how everybody in our schedule shapes up. I think most people would have taken that in a heartbeat if offered before the season.

Even if that's true if you have 4 guys with their ears pinned back because they are not worried about a run, you should still get home more than we did.

Dude we have not been trying to pressure anyone in 2 games. Nor will we in game 3. Probably not even vs Miz. We are going to run our offense and outscore these soft defenses. I'm just glad #1 KJones was able to return to the field.

We blitzed some but it still felt fairly conservative overall. Less conservative than the ULM game, but still. I felt like our gameplan was very much let’s make them dink and dunk and they’ll eventually fizzle out.

And then all of a sudden he will have receivers running wide open. If Arnett is going to play the same zone next week he played today, USC is going to get a lot of open receivers for lots of yards. We have to force them to kick field goals from outside the 30 yard line.

We did only bring 3 a lot of the time. Showed blitz and backed out. Didn’t bring more than 5 often at all.

Our first two opponents have gotten rid of the ball very quickly, so blitzing likely is not a good strategy. Minnesota took one shot down field all day.
