Black Out Alternate Uniforms Confirmed for Cy-Hawk

My understanding is the uniform is all black with gray numbers. My response was to that report.

The school colors are black AND gold. That's the logic. It's not complicated.

Well, for one thing, Iowa NEVER wears yellow. It wears gold. The school colors are black and gold. You could even look it up on the U of I website and discover the technical details of the exact shade of gold, NOT yellow. OMG.

Which is ironic because fry said yellow was for pansies or something but he meant the helmets. The helmets used to be old gold years ago , then yellow in the 70’s

Disagree. I think it will be a good look. I definitely like the solid black pants, rather than the black pants we’ve worn in the past, with the large gold stripe.

I wouldn’t think of it as a true “black-out” uniform, but rather a variation of the standard look, which is what I think they should be doing anyway. Teams should stay on-brand. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have more than two variations of your uniform. For Iowa, it could be any combination of black, white, or gold jerseys and pants (though I didn’t end up loving the gold jerseys we wore up at Minny a couple of years ago … but it was a cool thing to try).

Me too. Wish we always wore black shoes and socks at home since you know...our primary color is black. Looks way better than white

Tonight is the only alts we should wear going forward other than maybe wearing these pants with road whites occasionally. Finally got the alt pants right

Not a fan of the yoga pants look. Black pants, black socks black shoes. Black pants,yellow stripe looks better.

Unis were lame IMO. The only thing worse is the black pants with the gold stripe. Don't pair the traditional home jerseys with anything but the traditional gold/black stripe pants. If we're going to go with an alt uniform make it an actual alt uniform, which we've only ever had 2 that were any good... 2015 Minnesota and 2017 tOSU.

However, that distinguishes Iowa from Purdue’s colors. Iowa has some of the sharpest unis in college football. What’s dumb is when Campbell’s fighting clowns wore black and white.
