Game was 28-20 in the fourth Q before MC erupted. Marist doesn't stop fighting. MC hit them extremely hard and I felt like Apollos trainer in Rocky 2 "I saw you beat that man like I've never seen anyone get beat before and they kept coming after you". They were tough, tip of the cap to them.

MC once again started slow.....just like last week, they drove down to the goal line and came up empty. Then they stopped Marist and dropped 2 easy TD passes....then broken coverage gave Marist the lead....finally MC erupts for the first time and goes up 28-7.....then they took the foot off the gas and let them right back in.....MC did a fake punt that failed that handed them the ball at midfield.....yes they won by 30 but again, it was 28-20 in the 4th...

MC just needs to start fast and finish and stop letting teams get back into games or BR and LA will not go well for them. Extremely talented, can strike fast and dominate but they leave the door open.....maybe they play better under pressure I don't know....

Brother Rice is going to be incredible motivated for that game

if Marist can hang with MC, a motivated BR and their freshman phenom win by 2 TD’s!!!

I don’t know about that. Rice is a great team. But I think MC is head and shoulders above. Marist is better than people think, but they also came in with a huge chip on their shoulder playing with house money. MC had Naz last week and Rice next. Not a trap game because Marist is a very good team, but I recall a lot of people thinking Rice would dominate LWE and that did not happen.

Agreed on this one. LWE is tough and always well-coached, but watching that game, there is no way Rice should have lost with the talent and athletes they have.

As much as I don't like Lynch as a person, the guy can coach, motivate, and recruit. I'd love to see MC lose to BR, but I think MC will win by 14-17 pts. MC has some better athletes and wins the coaching game.

In a mistake-riddled game, with sloppiness on both sides, the Caravan made fewer mistakes and then recovered its mojo. Lynch draws from a deep well of talent, and he deploys that talent in creative ways.

Someone in another thread called him a "coaching wizard," and indeed his wizardry was on display late in the first half, when Cloherty handed off to Nate Samuels, who slipped the ball to Duran Sims, who shoveled it back to Cloherty, who tossed it to Ty Kennedy for a first and goal. The razzle-dazzle was as well synchronized as the cheerleaders doing their half-time routines, and this is meant as a compliment.

It is also a compliment to Marist that they were able to hang with Carmel for three quarters. This is not a knock on Carmel. The Redhawks came to play, and they have a talented team, especially on offense. They will spring a surprise on someone in the playoffs.

Seems like MC doesn’t have much situational awareness, and that’s leading to some unnecessary turnovers. Just telling guys to stay in bounds when trying to run the clock. Same thing with the punt block. That’s a live ball, so they can recover it and advance it.

Too many dropped passes the last two games too, including two that were basically sure touchdowns. Good thing is they’ll see BR, LA and, hopefully LWE in the playoffs, and I have a feeling Lych will have them ready. The penalties and turnovers are what really cost them against ESL.

A team playing with house money and nothing to lose is very dangerous. We will see it next week in a 4-0 St. Pats lead by Coach Tom Zbikowski

Lynch got too cute when it was 28-7. A 4th and 3 from mid field and he goes for it - bad pass behind Samuel slows play down. Regardless he should have punted - put Marist down on its 10ish and then gotten ball back. At that point Marist was getting spanked. So the 4th blows up and Marist gets some momentum from the FU attempt on them and great field position. Then Lynch goes v2.0 on the fake punt and it further blows up and gives Marist good field position. Nothing against Marist but MC let them back in the game big time. Then they got the memo and got back in gear. MC DBs are their weak link. Marist receivers are decent but they are not the type they will face vs Loyola or Rice. MC is still the premier team in CCL Blue but have chinks in the armor

They let up too much... That's coaching... Yes, I know how "great" the Caravan are but it's frustrating to see games being close when really they shouldn't be!~ They need the killer instinct and apply it early!~

They need to work hard on playing consistently throughout the game. Even though they beat St. Joseph's there is no excuse for being down 30-0 in the 1st quarter. Whether its at the beginning of the game or at the end of the game MC has struggled to compete all 4 quarters. Really would not be surprised at all if Loyola beats them just by playing hard every drive.

I've become accustomed to him not punting when he should have about 4 seasons ago 😂. But this defense is not shut down like the ones in 2022 and 2023 despite the college offers. The punter is a QB and the guy was open he just missed the pass but it was unnecessary I agree.

3 DBs, one nationally ranked, 1 committed to D1 and another entertaining offers and they are having issues. Something has to be figured out. I assume it will. Winters is out hurt but the Sophomore replacing him is impressive

Last night was a brilliant display of talent. If not the best in state history, they may be most the gifted team that Carmel has ever assembled.

Still got smoked by ESTL, which shows just how incredible that program is. Only team that can compete on a talent level. Still disappoints me how far we are from the very top of high school football. I can't imagine how teams can have so much more talent than even MC and ESTL.

I don’t think G squared has played in 2 weeks. He’s pretty good. They’ve got some talented receivers, a decent O line with a Minnesota recruit. Their best back is an excellent hard runner. Defense might be thier weakness because I haven’t seen them tested. But their best player is a D lineman that will play at Notre Dame. I like Carmel big but I’ll be interested in this one.

Officially yes but McNabb was the backup as a Soph during Rice's senior year. McGrew was the QB with Rice.
I’ll still wait to see another MC team or any local HS team with two players that attain that level in spite of their role on the team.
