I was on the observation deck of the WTC when the first plane hit. I was 6 years old. Once the 2nd one hit i was carried away by 4 fireman. Big strong fireman. I was a hefty 6 year old.

On Monday, September 10, 2001, I was flying back from visiting the in-laws out on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I was with my wife and a friend. The next morning 9/11 attacks occurred and we were so glad we got home before it happened.

My cousin's husband from Denver was in the South Tower in a business meeting on something like the sixtieth floor when the North Tower was hit. The people they were meeting with were not sure what to do, but my cousin's husband and his co-worker he was at the meeting with decided to leave immediately. Good thing they did.

Lastly, my mother died on 9-11-2002. I do not think I will ever forget either date.

I think people have a right to be as wrong as they want to be. Some value that right more than others.

I lived in Arlington, Virginia at that time. I took the day off because I was waiting for a bed delivery. I took a walk that morning before the scheduled delivery. My path took me just on the other side of I-395 from the Pentagon on Army-Navy Drive. I missed American Airlines 77 hitting the Pentagon by an hour or two.

First year teacher. Sixth grade. My colleagues experience was watching and processing the Challenger explosion. So we decided to turn the TV's on and help the kids process through what was happening. We noticed a couple of jumpers and decided to turn the TV's off. I kept it together pretty well until the principal came around door to door to let everyone know that the President was at Offutt. At that point, I began to feel fear. Didn't get much schoolwork done. Sat in the basement workroom with a bunch of other teachers bawling at lunch and the end of the day.

Elementary school. Our teacher told us what had happened but she didn't have the TV on so we were mostly in the dark. Teacher across the hall did have it on for his students. To this day I'm not sure if there was a correct answer what to do for a bunch of 8 year olds. But I understand and respect both positions.

My aunt and uncle were visiting my cousin in New York for a few days when it happened. They met up with a friend on the night of the 10th and planned to meet up for lunch in one of the towers the next day. I'm forever grateful that none of them are particularly morning people. My mother still has the voice message on the old answering machine of my cousin calling to tell us they were all okay.

A friend of mine’s daughter worked in the towers and was late coming in from the burbs for work. She was in the train station closest to the towers when the first plain hit. Everybody else in her office died that day😕

I had just started my business a few months prior to the attack. I heard on the radio as I was pulling in the parking lot (to do a service at Anthony's Steakhouse) that something had happened at the WTC.

I wasn't paying much attention....I thought they were intially were just talking about the anniversary of the attempted bombing in the early 90's.

I went inside and started working. All of thr kitchen help was huddled around a tv in the front of the kitchen. They looked at me like I was crazy. I finally walked to the front of the kitchen and asked them what was up. The second plane had just hit just prior to that.

I really had a hard time deciding if I should even keep working that day. I was actually down near Offutt Base housing when AF1 flew over. I called it a day after that.

The only positive about that day was the unity you could feel for MONTHS after the attack.
