I'm heading to the game Saturday so I've been shopping tickets for a few weeks. Prices are crashing as the game approaches. Look at the pictures of inventory from Ticketmaster. It's like the game just went on sale. I'm sure it will be packed despite being 95 degrees at kickoff, but this is crazy. Could only imagine if such a thing happened here.

Ticketmaster/Live Nation is a crooked business. This stuff is seen routinely with concert tickets. Best to wait just before the event start to purchase.

I have a team of AI agents tracking them for me 😂. My only issue is I’m going to pay up for tickets with access to an air conditioned lounge so I need to track certain sections. First world problems, I know

From what level did prices crash? They start in $400s on SeatGeek.

Texas will generate more tix sales revenue from this game than Rutgers does in the entire 2026 season.

What's your target price?
We all have our limits, and same for me with concerts.

Fore me- a college football game- $150 max, maybe $200.

Did they play Click Click Boom when Ohio State was leading?

And did you meet Matthew McConaughey?

Or Mike Damon?

The lack of tackiness in the gameday presentation really stood out. 100k plus in their seats and knowing the cheers and whatnot definitely helped. Posted in another thread but they have a boardwalk like setup about 3x the size of ours and a food area called Bevo Blvd. $5 beer and $3 water. Thought they made a mistake ringing it

My son was the only picture McConaughey took on his way off the espn set, his people tried to stop him but we made it happen. Pics with Herbstreit and Macfee as well. Macafee took a million pics, signed autographs and talked to everyone there which probably speaks to why he’s so popular. Saban, Howard and the rest couldn’t be bothered. Saban even blew off a family in all bama gear with a 3 year old daughter in a bama cheerleading outfit.

Both my daughters got to UT and we have had season tickets for 3 years. Aside from having to be smart on where you sit in September through mid-October (knowing the shaded sections of the stadium is key to buying tix online), the gameday experience - despite the tailgating scene being weird (taligating in parking decks and no traditional parking lots) - is really good. Bevo Blvd is well run, all the in-game stuff is top notch. And opposite to the Fireworks of Sadness, if they lose they pretty much cancel everything - even the fraternities cancel their parties they take losses so hard.

Was there last night as well and that 4th quarter was one of the most insane in-stands experiences I have been in….

Winning programs show how it's done, but after 22 years we still can't learn.

Sarah Baumgartner was a huge loss for Rutgers Athletics when she left on 2021 to go to Texas. Great to see her doing well at the Longhorns. Several ex-Rutgers people doing well there.

When we walked out my son said UT is at the top of his college list. He’s only 13 so we have a ways to go but between him and my 15 year old daughter, I’m quietly hoping for another football team to root for. I’ll live with the heat if it’s UT. Loved the campus and all of Austin that we had time to see.

You realize 90% of admissions are reserved for Texas residents?

This is an unfortunately myopic view by Bo, running for office in Texas. UT is an awesome STEM school, and it is no surprise there are lots of applicants from groups that excel in STEM. That should be viewed as a good thing?

I do. We will be at a dozen or more campuses before he decides and he will have several new colleges atop his list after each I’m sure. This is the flavor of the week.

That X post is an excellent Rorschach test. Some see it as what’s great about America and others somehow see it as what’s wrong with it.

And if you pan back from the closeup, it's mostly "traditional" Texans. And the ones in the front are "blending". Reminds me of Devo's choice of the title of their fourth album "New Traditionalists." Life imitating art.

This has spun out of control. The context is Sarkisian blew off Holly Rowe and her post game interview. Not many fans seem to enjoy these forced interviews mid game, at the half and post game . The questions are often banal. An AI video was made mocking Sarkisian slapping Holly Rowe . Arch Manning was asked about it.

Video.

Outrage ensued. And so did social media mockery of the outrage

Arch apologized

Sigh.

While lost in all the outrage. This could be solved by stopping or curtailing the pre-game, in-game, half-time and post game sideline reporter banal questions, which could all be answered with a See and Say with the following responses:

1. We need to score more points than the other side to win this game.

2. We played well

3. We did not play well.

4. We did not coach well/We coached well.

5. I'm proud of how player X played today.

Such an overblown reaction. Holly Rowe had a rough night. When running alongside Day trying to get the halftime interview she got absolutely trucked by a player and fell spectacularly.

The attacks on Holly Rowe are sad. She is a cancer survivor, and nobody should be commenting on her appearance. These silly hot take questions on what the coach is thinking are unnecessary and always seem forced, but the geniuses at ESPN, NBC, BTN, etc. think fans want to hear these. The coaches never say anything interesting or of consequence. The only coach who ever did was Mike Leach. This one is a classic:

Leach was a treasure. I don't know how he would have done as our coach but it would have been fun to watch and very interesting.
