My bro in law is the AT at Warrensburg... he said he believes their starting QB tore his ACL this past week also.

He also said they had a really good number of kids on the sideline, just 4 seniors on the roster though, possibly all lineman.

That's just wild... Tough break don't like hearing it. And they'll wait until schedules are set for next year before pulling the plug and leaving teams scrambling again... that's the part I'm struggling with. Like if you committed, you committed, just play it out. But then again I guess I start to understand if you're losing guys to getting beat up by W-L... Idk, just poopy all the way around on this subjec.t

Agree with everything you stated. But this is becoming a disturbing trend in high school football currently.

From Litchfield forfeiting their season earlier, the IHSA site still shows Piasa needing a game in Week 5 and Pana in Week 8.

That could work for potential upcoming Clinton forfeits Eureka (Wk 5) and Central A&M (Wk 8).

3 of the 4 Seniors are Lineman. Feel for those kids.

Any word on lower level numbers?

It's too easy to cancel. Plenty of schools have played a varsity schedule without seniors.
Yep. Just like that Kincaid team from the 90s that gets brought up on every one of these threads.

Sad to see a school with 425+ not be able to field a team. They have had a year here or there when they were competitive but as a program have never won a playoff game.

When they came into the HoI a few years ago, I thought they would be competitive coming from the competitive CIC but it simply hasn't worked out for them.

If the sideline my brother in law was alluding to was accurate they have numbers there. They're also playing JV rest the way as stated above me. I feel like that's the common thing though with these forfeited varsity seasons... many have both JV and Frosh teams to play. But for whatever reason, by the time these kids' junior/senior years roll around, they're all gone. Idk man...

It's just crazy to think in some places we have teams who once they get up by 30 or 40, it's "put the frosh/sophs in for game experience" and with others it's "let's cancel the season." Idk man...

Well I could have helped you there... the CIC dumped one of it's better programs because they couldn't handle losing to them. Blamed it on the usual "they're a private school" pitch fork motto, then proceeded to continue playing mediocre football as a league, without a team potentially running to state. Tells you all you need to know about the CIC and it's programs imo. And my bro knows how I feel, and again he's the AT at W-L... lol

Weakness of the mind is "the itus" as my former HS head coach used to say constantly...

Clinton just red flagged their own football program, so I hope their BOE and administrators are okay with that. Coaches come and go, but the red flag stays. Opponents are going to look at their schedules going forward and if the Maroons are on there, cancel comes to mind. I wouldn't schedule them non-conference for sure!

Does their HFC have a seat at the all-conference selection meeting at the end of the season?

And why are some of these schools going ahead & playing just 1 more game than calling off the season?
