Nope. I have not. I usually rate just on the plain where you can’t disguise the pizza. But I will give it a shot. I live in Caldwell. Come one day and I’ll take you to Tony D’s and you show me the deal on Forte.

Speaking of Caldwell I’m known to occasionally frequent Stephanie’s as well. They have a great gnocchi dinner they call Gnocchi Romana that’s a personal favorite.

Had it today. I will not be going back for it. The chicken caesar slice is their best slice in my opinion. Nobody has one like it. But in the winter time I'm there once a week for the best escarole and beans in NJ.

La Sicilia in Belleville used to have the best pizza, especially the Palermo pie, but it's gone downhill lately but still better than that grandpa pie.

I guess it’s just a matter of taste then because that grandpa pie to me is the pinnacle of what a pizza should be, especially without garlic and with extra sauce.
I’ll check out the Palermo pie

Nothing here overturns anything I said. He’s a guy who gets paid big to do things he enjoys. That’s a win in anyone’s book. Nobody cares about you and dominos

Relax it’s an expression.

Learning about new pizzerias that enriches my life is somehow idolizing Portnoy? I couldn’t give a crap about Portnoy. He’s offering me a free service that I enjoy. You don’t like it? Too bad. I’m not running a popularity contest here.

Somehow this about Jesus vs Portnoy? You need serious help. You don’t even make sense.

Btw does your “serious” job require sending legible emails?

A high quality cheese like Grande for starters. Also love anything with a San Marzano or plum tomato sauce on the tangy side. Cheese overflowing onto crust right to edge of pie which is slightly charred at the edges. Thinner crust unless it’s a Sicilian. Not as fanatic about a “no flop” undercarriage as Portnoy, he’s seriously underrated some exquisite pies just because they weren’t crispy on the bottom.

He definitely has his style and yes the crispy “under carriage” is the driver.

That Krispy place with multiple locations that kills it on YouTube always talks about the Grande cheese.

Yea I’ve been to the original Krispy in Brooklyn and it’s at best on the upper side of average.

Any pizzeria worth anything uses Grande though so it’s not that big of an accomplishment.
