Wisconsin showed some good signs towards the end of last year, specifically their defense iirc…at the moment it seems like they might be building on those little positives at the end of a bad season. Let’s see if they can keep it up.

Hard to replace a RB like Love. Wisc D looking good too.

Missed a bunch of the second halves, so much for Wisc building on last year lol. 13-10 down to 41-13 down to ND.

UL took a lead too and the next thing I see 38-24 down. UL has closed it to down 38-31 and UL will get the ball back with about 3 mins left.

UL inside the Ole Miss 10 1:36 left.

I haven’t really seen the 2nd half to know what the flow of the game was but wonder if they might go for two if they score.

SMU vs Florida State delayed due to power outage at Doak. Teams just left the field as the sun has set & stadium is dark.

This game has really kept my attention span. So nice without the video reviews. Maybe we are learning something here.

Have said it elsewhere, Rutgers would have been better off in football in the ACC. Old Big East teams, less top level competition (Clemson is no longer a power, Miami has risen, teams like Duke placing second in their division). It's great Rutgers is in one of the two best football conferences and getting all that media money. And Rutgers sinks further into debt and irrelevance each year in the B1G.

Eliminated: Rutgers

While the Scarlet Knights theoretically have a path to Indianapolis for the conference title game and a CFP bid, we’re going to chalk that up to the stuff of utter fantasy after they lost to UMass in the most humiliating fashion Thursday. The manner in which Rutgers was pushed around by that program, which earned every bit the label of being the worst in FBS, is essentially disqualifying from any notion of even being in the CFP race to begin with and makes for a quick process in ensuring this is the first Power 4 school eliminated from the national title chase. It was already going to be an uphill battle to make it to a bowl game, but it took just one week for things to get so much worse for the team and any bigger picture aspirations they may have had. Perhaps the worst thing is that the Big Ten must now also reckon with the fact that if teams don’t beat Rutgers by better than 16 points, the selection committee is liable to hold it against them.

You take these weekly rankings with a grain of salt because you can't rank all 138 teams accurately on a week to week basis but vicinity wise is probably a little more accurate. Also it's just another shot to endure.

From the article:

Rutgers falls all the way to No. 136 for that blowout loss to UMass, which wasn’t as close as the 16-point final margin would indicate. This is the new lowest position for a Power 4 team in 10 years of these rankings. But the Scarlet Knights aren’t the bottom.

Those spots belong to Utah State and Charlotte, which also lost to FCS teams. Utah State lost 29-17 to an Idaho State program that has one winning season in the last decade (but is improving). The new No. 138 is Charlotte, which lost 43-41 to The Citadel in triple overtime. The Citadel hasn’t had a winning season since 2016, went 4-8 last year and lost 42-14 to Wofford in Week 0. Charlotte has lost 11 straight games to FBS opponents.

Well I haven't lost hoped especially with the new CFB landscape which offers so much more opportunity for everyone than ever before. We've barely tried many options for the last 25 years when we started to take things semi seriously. How many sports admins that actually have come up in the AD field. Same for coaches outside of GS/Flood.

It's not like we tried this, we tried this and this and this and nothing at all. Try new people from "different walks of life" so to speak and see what happens. You just keep trying but you have to get out of the bubble and see what's out there and what's possible on the landscape. It's part of why I post so much news and stuff going on around CFB so people here (who may not be CFB junkies like me lol) can see the different things happening across football and what's possible.
