Pandering to cspireMatt, for the love of all things HOLY! Never wear that color shirt when trying to discuss a MSU game. You should know better!!!!!!
Every offense is better with a highly mobile QB…….assuming they can execute the passing side of whatever offense you are running.I watched it, and what stood out to me is how much better the offense is with a highly mobile QB. So many times Kamario avoided a sack that an average QB would have taken.
Blake Shapen was mobile. Well, kind of mobile. Well, serviceable. Well, he sucked, couldn't run away from the pocket to save his lifeI watched it, and what stood out to me is how much better the offense is with a highly mobile QB. Blake couldn't see over the line of scrimmage. That was his biggest problem.Blake Shapen was mobile. Well, kind of mobile. Well, serviceable. Well, he sucked, couldn't run away from the pocket to save his life
He can do things running the ball that you just don’t see other players do.Tremendous observation by Matt on KT's ability to set up defenders with his feet. We saw the same thing in the Egg Bowl run. He's probably been doing that in this backyard since he was 5 years old. Just a natural ability to set defenders up & then cut off of them.
And with zero effort. Just glides. He can do things running the ball that you just don’t see other players do.
He said he wants to be more QB like this year. For the most part I think he did a good job of that. He did some damage running but was mostly pass first & took very few hits. And with zero effort. Just glides.
I haven’t watched Matt’s video yet but I did like what I saw several times on scrambles that he’s still looking downfield and not just tucking and running.
Shapen was fast enough and tough enough to lower his head and get 20yds when he saw an opening but he wasn't quick enough or strong enough to avoid a rush. KT can do all of that.Blake Shapen was mobile. Well, kind of mobile. Well, serviceable. Well, he sucked, couldn't run away from the pocket to save his life
He also wasn’t smart enough to NOT lower his head and take a hit when it wasn’t absolutely necessary. KT was pretty conscious of avoiding unnecessary hits Saturday.Shapen was fast enough and tough enough to lower his head and get 20yds when he saw an opening but he wasn't quick enough or strong enough to avoid a rush. KT can do all of that.
Shapen was mobile, but I swear he would play chicken with a train. His pocket awareness was always a second too slow.Blake Shapen was mobile. Well, kind of mobile. Well, serviceable. Well, he sucked, couldn't run away from the pocket to save his life
Been waiting for this a long time. 4 years of Rogers not moving at all and 2 years of Shapen not moving much. All while the rest of college football was running the QB.I watched it, and what stood out to me is how much better the offense is with a highly mobile QB. So many times Kamario avoided a sack that an average QB would have taken.
I think that was less of a problem than having one or more lineman do a turnstile impression on damn near every play.He pointed out how lazy the ULM defense was.
Blake couldn't see over the line of scrimmage. That was his biggest problem.
