Schiano with his hands all over the d. Looks exactly the same this year.Don’t forget — we had a co-DC from JMU last year. Apparently we’re the only school that hires a JMU coach who absolutely sucks.
I stayed up to watch. Cal’s defense looked like Rutgers D. They couldn’t even slow the run and it was pitch and catch with no one within 5 yds of the recievers. Can we just get the current JMU coach whoever that is?
Must be something in the water.Don’t forget — we had a co-DC from JMU last year. Apparently we’re the only school that hires a JMU coach who absolutely sucks.
UMASS Stats: 397 TY, 197 passing, 200 rushing,21 first downs and 4/11 on 3rd down conversion.I stayed up to watch. Cal’s defense looked like Rutgers D. They couldn’t even slow the run and it was pitch and catch with no one within 5 yds of the recievers.
They were way better than Rutgers D. And their Onwas light years better. Cal would smoke us.I stayed up to watch. Cal’s defense looked like Rutgers D. They couldn’t even slow the run and it was pitch and catch with no one within 5 yds of the recievers.
Sparber spent 1 year in Harrisonburg as LB coach. Other than that, he has been a GA or analyst his entire career outside of his 1 year in Piscataway. He is back to being an analyst down at TA&M. That kind of resume somehow lands you a co-DC role here
No one wants to work for Schiano. He’s a losing coach, has no juice, and his methods are far outdated. Combine that with the fact he’s a control freak and over paying for some analyst level talent is what you get.Sparber spent 1 year in Harrisonburg as LB coach. And you left out that it took Greg over 2 months to entice him to come. And pay him more than 5 times what he was making at JMU.Sparber spent 1 year in Harrisonburg as LB coach. Not true. Remember 119 other people signed up to get paid for this mess.No one wants to work for Schiano.
Schiano is a freaking dinosaur. The next time that man shows innovation will be his first. Zinn needs to send him to Shady Acres Retirement Home the bye week after Cignetti teabags him on HC.In this weeks game overview Richie and Co mentions GS wasn't worried about playing a team with a HD who worked at Rutgers and knows them week. Asked about changing-up for Harasymiak they quoted GS saying "We're not in the business of tricking people." That's 70s-90s football right there. Fullbacks, arm pads, dive plays and bloody noses.
GS still believes in the old "If you execute you win." Maybe Ohio St can do that but RU can't. The spreads and RPOs, the LBs running 4.4s, the zone blocking. the year round coaching with terabytes of video and coaches working for many teams and sharing make "just executing" a dangerous perspective. RU runs a screen in red zone and Ohio St has 4 defenders there before the ball. Yet you see it over and over an opposing teams mention it. The spreads neutralized Greg's aggressive, blitzing defenses (a reason RU could never neat WV) that were supposed to get the ball to safe offenses. He still tries to run the same offense (works good between the 20s but then zip)
Did he really say that?
