I listened to him pregame and thought he did well. Thoughts? Kyle Crooks is growing on me too. Hope he stays a long time
For those that listened to the radio broadcast of the game today. How did Jay Moore do.?

I liked the broadcast. The game was the main event, not themselves if you know what I mean.
We were driving all day so my wife had the radio on while I watched on my phone. I thought he was pretty good. I'm not anti-Benning but I think I prefer Moore.
I didn't listen yesterday but while Damon is a nice guy, I need more from my radio color commentator than-
"See what they did there? I was saying that they would try something like that." (try what?)
It's all pronouns, hint language, and see I told you so. None of that works for someone who is not watching the game and has no idea what he is talking about.
Yep . I was watching an interview years ago with Jack Buck . He was talking about the difference between broadcasting a game onTV versus Radio. Like he said on Radio people can’t see it I have to be their eyes for them .
I like Damon’s dig into the details. I get so tired of -it’s a run up the middle. That says so little- was it a trap, iso, power, wham, duo, Rpo, option, dive, veer, midline etc etc I don’t need all the background stories or drama- just tell me what’s going on on the field. TV is the worst- they know so little or maybe they just don’t know how to broadcast. On TV just give me the game and replays, lots of replays. I have no need to see the parents or cheerleaders - I’m there to watch football.
Moore did a great job, Benning was alright but he was kind of a gas bag.
Had to be better than the TV broadcast, Spencer Tillman was ******* annoying the entire game, saying nice after every snap, even if it was a one yard run.
is there a recording of it somewhere? I'd re-listen to it just to hear the broadcast and how it went.

Jay did well - his delivery, as expected, is a bit dry and very matter of fact. It is a nice change, but he will need to “personality” it up maybe just a bit. For me it was a net positive all the way around.

Yes! If I heard “nice” one more time I was going to throw my shoe at the screen.
I remember listening to Bremser back in the day. He wasn’t the commentator sidekick like Benning was (Bremser’s commenter was Dave Blackwell), but Bremser was notorious for making misleading descriptions and for leaving out details and results. For example he would announce, “Tagge hands the ball to Kinney who is ahead for a couple of yards.” Then two seconds later, “Okay, let’s call it second and one”. Or he would get so excited he would leave you hanging. He would say things like “Ok. Nebraska has it 3rd and 15 at its own 32. Humm is back to pass. Flushed out of the pocket rolling to his right … he throws downfield for Frosty Anderson. … Oh my! Not sure what Humm was thinking. Can’t tell from here if the refs will allow this.” Then you find out 30 seconds later that it was a completed pass for a first down.
Damon was clearly in his element yesterday. Yellow No.2 pencil behind his ear, talking the drama boyz out of the tree of distress over playing time. IN HIS ELEMENT. Clearly where he is supposed to be.
I don’t remember who said it but the quote was “any resemblance to the actual play that Lyle called was purely accidental””. Might have been Adrian Fiala or shoot maybe it was something I said years ago.

Man woman and child. Yeah he was a Homer and hard to follow sometimes - but had no one to compare him to listening on a scratchy small transistor radio on KFAB, thought he was great. Until I heard the very descriptive Kent pavelka- “Huskers 1st and ten from the Husker 25, 12:34 left to go in the quarter, on the near hash moving right to left, north to south, wind at 10 mph from the south lol. They were both great for me anyways. We were on TV 2-4 times a year which was huge recruiting tool back then- Bowl Games were a huge deal again another nice recruiting tool heading to Florida , Arizona or Texas .

this matches pretty closely with my take after re-listening to the game.. I'm going to listen in this week. I think it will evolve organically, but found no glaring issues with the broadcast.. the tv broadcasts have become unbearable.
