Congratulations to UM and their fans. I guess they just won a national championship judging by the fans storming the field.

I think I've complained about officiating twice in my life now
The 5th Down Game between Mizzou/Colorado and this one
The refs rarely actually impact a game and allowing that completion is still ridiculously in that situation BUT the refs (more exact--the replay booth) get some blame on this one

Terry McAully said the official clock was in sync with the game clock.
When is the play over? When it goes over the end line or when someone touches it. I don't know but I am hoping for the integrity of the game they made the right call by saying there was a second left.

Nevertheless, the football gods will get scUM. No way scUM can get this lucky in another close game.

Western Michigan had 4 defenders at the LOS and another 3 within 6 yards of the LOS on that last play just like LBs might line up in normal action. Those guys dropped back as soon as the ball was snapped but it seems to me that gave Michigan receivers time to beat defenders to the end zone. I don't understand that alignment. Was their goal to show the threat of a blitz to confuse scUM's OL?

I’m sure that they’ll play better next week, but it may not matter against OU.

Then he said "their system may have a different clock" which....again...yeah lol
He said that was possible when it happened, but clarified it later after the game and said they were in sync. When he said the Big Ten will have some explaining to do about how they determined that call. Of course, they won't explain a thing.

You weren't bothered by OSU kicking a FG 3 seconds after the play clock expired? IIRC the scoreboard replay showed it clearly but refs said they have to go by their own replay which was coincidentally on the fritz for that play.

Or the Michigan game were the replay clearly showed the ball hit the ground but they still called it complete?

Play is over when someone standing out of bounds touches it. (Not when it crosses the plane of the end line.)

No, right after he said "our clock was in sync with the game clock" he made that comment

Does the BiG review these things? If so do they say whoops and call it a day?

Like I said--this is the second time I've ever truly had an issue with officiating. I have a high tolerance for errors as they're human

Where's the official clock? An old Omega on the Umpire's wrist? That's the effin' clock. It's synced to be the clock.
Apparently it's kept by the Big Ten office for these situations...
Honestly man, I couldn't agree with you and everyone else more--that's nonsense. 2nd worst thing I've ever seen by the refs. It was illogical

Wait--I wasn't watching LSU-Clemson closely--Leavitt has 100 yards rushing in a half--he average like 30 yards a game the past couple years

It might be the biggest screw job in the history of the game. Clock was at zero BEFORE being touched.

Thought he meant official clock was in sync with theirs (the one we see) when he said that. Nonetheless, if there was a second left on any clock, they started it late.

Trust me--we agree
I don't he think he believes that--he just had to say something so it wasn't "oh, yeah, the refs completely f***** them"

Or Avante's foot landing squarely OB..... or the cheating b1g scumbags adding 2 seconds to the clock a couple plays AFTER the video provable horseshit Avante call - two seconds that allowed scUM an additional play as their last play (the one they scored on) was run with 1 second on clock.

I despise Michigan more than OSU, Iowa, Pitt and the dbags at Rutgers combined.

And remember in '02 the completion by Tony Johnson they called incomplete because he was out of bounds?! Unbelievable!
I remember that well; he had not one foot in but both feet! I went outside after that game and yelled loudly in frustration. Just one additional point that went towards my festering hate of Meeechigan that persists to this day.
