This is close to Christmas for me. Smorgasbord of games. Football is back!
My hopes for the Hawks today:
1) win
2) don't lose anyone to injury
3) don't care about the margin-just enough for me to be convinced the Hawks were clearly the better team.
4) one or more WR shows he is a P4-caliber player
5) young LBs show hope of developing into great players
6) I don't care which QB plays how much. I just want whoever THE guy is to make plays with his arm and feet.

Concerns now that the game is finished:

-Health of the OLine
-Guys behind Moulton look suspect
-Consistent drops from WRs
-Kicking
-Red Zone packages looked bad
-Passing is the same old crap. Just not very good. Won't get any better if it doesn't improve.

Defense was solid. DL looked good, LBers solid and secondary also. Defense was a nice surprise.

Kamari's the man. Howard looked better than Heck, but both QB's missed wide open WR's. Diaz was solid, as was our TE's. OL is very good but Winters and Pieper went out. Hope they are OK.

Special teams look pretty good. Evans is our punt returner and Buhr came on as he settled in. Punting was good.

Hated to see Philips get hurt. He never really found his rhythm. A little surprised X Williams and McNeil didn't look better.

This defense. Phil is a god.

Feel like there have been years where we wouldn't be able to take that stat for granted, even at home against a weak opponent. I had this distinct feeling during the week that we'd be in their backfield a lot today.

And they were getting good pressure even when they didn’t secure the sack. The opponent was not the best we will face this year of course, but that was a very solid defensive effort. Go Hawks.

One thing I’ve seen with brown which is the Iowa way

only looks at the first read.
I don’t remember the last time an Iowa QB went to their 2nd or 3rd read….that wasn’t a check down

Yep - Heck appears to do that somewhat better.
