I’d be shocked if we got Sanchez or Dube. I think our 28 class will be Kenny, Bachmann, O’Neill?, and maybe a couple lower ranked guys.Saw the latest Flo HS rankings and Northern Iowa currently has two recuits in the top 10 P4P; Iowa has #8 and #19. Hoepfully the other two Iowa recruits will climb the rankings throughout the season. And perhaps we could snag another of the unsigned boys.

If I can have a guess, here are the ones I think we will target:Sanchez will be Iowa Penn st Oklahoma st don't see him going anywhere else.
Dube is interesting he could go anywhere he lives near Edinboro and goes to Spire 45 minutes from home . He will be a target for everyone
Getting Sanchez would be amazing, it just feels like we have guys coming in at those light weights and a lot of our targets in 28 will stay in that range. With Sean Kenny, Tovar was already mentioned but also Karenbauer (u17 world team member) his sister currently competes at Iowa in gymnasticsSanchez will be Iowa Penn st Oklahoma st don't see him going anywhere else.

Penn St and Oklahoma st have guys as well so he's gonna have line up battles no matter where he goesGetting Sanchez would be amazing, it just feels like we have guys coming in at those light weights and a lot of our targets in 28 will stay in that range. I’ve seen speculation that Ohio state will be in the mix for him, is there something that makes you think he would stick to one of us, okst, and Penn st?Penn St and Oklahoma st have guys as well so he's gonna have line up battles no matter where he goes
I’ve always thought Sammy to PSU was a done deal… especially with him being close to Nagao and wearing a lot of PSU merch.Penn St and Oklahoma st have guys as well so he's gonna have line up battles no matter where he goes
4 years of Deluca at 125 as wellGetting Sanchez would be amazing, it just feels like we have guys coming in at those light weights and a lot of our targets in 28 will stay in that range. With the success of last years true freshman class and injury possibilities without med redshirts, Im wondering if most top recruits will be looking to go where there is an opening and starting day one.Penn St and Oklahoma st have guys as well so he's gonna have line up battles no matter where he goes
You'd figure eventually that would happen and the recruits would spread out more maybe will see more transfersWith the success of last years true freshman class and injury possibilities without med redshirts, Im wondering if most top recruits will be looking to go where there is an opening and starting day one.
I honestly think most stud recruits feel like they can beat anybody at their weight. All the top teams are loaded at almost every weight anymore, so I don't think that factors into most of their college decisions. None of the top teams are promising any highschoolers starting spots on their stacked already teams. With the success of last years true freshman class and injury possibilities without med redshirts, Im wondering if most top recruits will be looking to go where there is an opening and starting day one.
I don’t think there’s a team in the country that Sammy Sanchez wouldn’t start on as a freshmanWill the money be there for big recruits to sit on the bench for 1 or 2 years? It seems it may at a couple of schools. I don't think guys like Sanchez are going to sit behind LL for a few years unless getting paid similar to LL and then not even sure they would still be content with that role.
You think he can beat Lilledahl? I'm not sure he could even start at Rutgers (if Knox is 125).I don’t think there’s a team in the country that Sammy Sanchez wouldn’t start on as a freshman
Knox agree with . Sanchez is a JR so Lilledahl would be 5th year then . I doubt he's a career 125 but maybeYou think he can beat Lilledahl? I'm not sure he could even start at Rutgers (if Knox is 125).
What about the other lightweight, Sidun or whateverKnox agree with . Sanchez is a JR so Lilledahl would be 5th year then . I doubt he's a career 125 but maybe
We will see that match at who's #1What about the other lightweight, Sidun or whatever
Do you see a scenario where both those two go to PSU?We will see that match at who's #1
That’s my take. If I’m a top 10 p4p guy there’s no way I’m ok with riding the pine for more than perhaps that first year. Will the money be there for big recruits to sit on the bench for 1 or 2 years? I really don't see top tier willing to sit even 1 year unless theyre really well paid to sit. I only seeing PSU and Okie St being able to pull that off. But, no shirts the other 4 for anything including medical. That’s my take. If I’m a top 10 p4p guy there’s no way I’m ok with riding the pine for more than perhaps that first year.
Definitely could the top guys like that aren't worried about a teammate they're trying to be the best in the world they've a different mentalityDo you see a scenario where both those two go to PSU?
How do you delete a post?
There is the common thread with wrestling dynasties. As Dan Gable has said, “I don’t recruit guys who want to be National Champions. I recruit wrestlers who want to beat Russians.”Definitely could the top guys like that aren't worried about a teammate they're trying to be the best in the world they've a different mentality

Imagine how good Schwab could recruit if he had Iowa's brand name and money..
As of right now, with the exception of 157, our lineup will be the same next year as this year. The following year there will be a LOT of new faces as Crook, Nasir, Ryder, Gabe and Ben will be done. And the jury still out at 165 and 197. 125 may be a dark horse -If I can have a guess, here are the ones I think we will target:
Easy Layup Guesses:
Freddy Bachmann
Sean Kenny
Peter Mocco (Maybe not because I don’t know where he will fit though)
Predictive Targets:
Jovanni Tovar,
Chase Karenbauer
Sammy Sanchez,
Jason Dube,
Matty O’Neill,
Matthew Staples,
Justus Heeg
With the current wrestlers and crop of wrestlers that should be coming over from the 2027 class, we will need
125, 141, 157, 165 or 174 (dependent on where Joey goes), and 184.

If Deluca stays healthy I think he's a 4X AAumm... Deluca ain't a 4 year starter?
If healthy?umm... Deluca ain't a 4 year starter?
Wouldn't he have the option of shirts vs 5/5?medical redshirts are a thing of the past
He does.Wouldn't he have the option of shirts vs 5/5?
If healthy?
But if per chance he qualifies for oly shirt, wouldn't he want shirts vs 4 for 4?He does.
But same diff. He was enrolled last year. He gets 4 years starting now.
Nope. He had a one time option that ended last month. No shirts going forward. If you get injured this year or later you lose a year of eligibility.Wouldn't he have the option of shirts vs 5/5?
Is it the same for those that red shirted last year? Are they also down to 4 for 4?Nope. He had a one time option that ended last month. No shirts going forward. If you get injured this year or later you lose a year of eligibility.
All shirts (Red, Oly) have been eliminated. The only reason to choose the old rules was to get an extra year for past injuries. Going forward if you are injured you lose a year regardless of which choice you made.
An argument can be made that in a sport where everyone gets injured it could result in fewer four timers in spite of the fifth year.
