We've been over this.

Don't call me things that I'm not, and you'll receive the same respect
But I don't expect Nebraska fans to give me their respect, Mr. Eyes............

They have Iowa State players. Need I say more? In all honesty I see 4 losses on their schedule. Becht wilts under pressure the Big 12 is not the Big 10.
I am not an ISU fan, but I can certainly respect good play. Iowa would have a great chance at the CFP if Becht were a hawk. I can potentially see 3 losses, but much more likely 2. USC is at PSU, I honestly don't think Michigan will be very good this year, but we will see. At Washington is tough, but that's it. Who is the fourth, Minnesota (LMFAO)

Northwestern? I mean it would be hilarious, and I'm a fan of Wilde (wish he would have come with Gronk), also think that Chiles in a chip Kelly offense could be something, but that is not one I see happening.

Friday night game. It's going to happen. Plus NW will have an extra day to prepare than PSU does.

It's really amazing the QB's that Campbell has had the last several years vs what Iowa has been shackled with. Brock Purdy and Rocco Becht vs Spencer Petras, Cade McNamara ,and Mark Gronowski who was absolutely terrible in the game last year. It's reason number one why ISU has won 3 of the last 4 games. Iowa's offense has been atrocious in those games and QB was a big reason why.

IMO, Penn State better go at least 10-2 with their cupcake schedule.

Road games against Michigan & Washington are their toughest games, imo. Their 3rd toughest game, imo, is USC at home.

They should start the season 6-0 before they head to Ann Arbor.

Penn State's 2026 Schedule:

Nonconference games:
vs Marshall; at Temple; vs Buffalo.

Conference games:
vs Wisconsin
at Northwestern
vs USC
at Michigan

vs Purdue
at Washington
vs Minnesota
vs Rutgers
at Maryland

The media likes to do this to try and keep Iowa from being a undervalued, dismissed sleeper team.

They know Kirk does worse when the media glazes his team, so they do it intentionally. They don't want Iowa to do well, because it doesn't help their ratings. True story btw, in case it's hard for anyone to believe...............
Danny Kannel was on Ryen Russilo podcast and said "I want to pick Iowa as a sleeper but they burn me everytime. I never get them right" haha

Not so sure on Michigan not being good. Big upgrade in coach over last season. Also would be surprised if minny's not pretty good this year.

I don’t think 9-3 is the ceiling. The only game that we have no shot in is OSU. All the others are certainly winnable.
Maybe. But Iowa had no shot at #3 Ohio State back in 2017 either. In fact, it was such a hopeless situation that I sold my tickets because, as I told my wife, we don't wanna waste our time goin' down there to see Iowa get beat 50-7. And then they played the game.

We sat at home and watched Iowa and Nate Stanley throttle Urban Meyer up one side and down the other. As you know, the Hawkeyes handed Meyer his most lopsided loss, 55-24. Iowa looked like the #1 team in the country, they intercepted the Buckeye QB four or five times, and the offense and special teams were unstoppable.

So Iowa has no shot at Ohio State. But my wife and I will be in Kinnick Stadium in person this time, just in case. :)

Agree...10-2 this year for Iowa is a very good season but certainly not a slam dunk playoff berth.
11- 1 is a slam dunk
Depending on who the losses are to, 10-2 against this schedule absolutely should get Iowa in. But might as well go 11-1 or 12-0 just in case.

Meh, Minnesota might be decent, but I wouldn't put a ton of weight into piling it on against a pretty awful FCS school. They put up a 66-0 win last year in the second week against NW state, followed by losing to Cal. These early games are questionable at best (unless you're Rutgers).

Michigan might be good, year 1 with a new coach is always iffy, I'm not sold at all on Underwood, and their secondary is a big question mark. Their offense is really going to depend on line play, which could go either way.

Not saying Minnys going to be a playoff team, but I'd bet they win a game out of that top 5 or 6 teams. Supposedly Michigan looks solid on both lines according to the B1G crew on their visit. That's all I have to go on at this point.

care to expound? I'll lay out a multitude of scenarios it would be difficult to see Iowa make the CFP. The BIG only landed 3 teams last year, each of these teams are ranked above Iowa, with PSU probably having the easiest route. A 10-2 Iowa with losses to Michigan and OSU would likely miss out on the CFP. Washington would be their banner game, and in this scenario, they have 5 losses. ND will get a bid as well, with their only possible loss coming to Miami.

1.) Ohio State undefeated
2.) Oregon 11-1 loss to OSU
3.) Indiana 11-1 loss to OSU
4.) PSU 11-1 loss to USC
5.) USC 10-2 loss to OSU, Indiana

wildcard would be Wisconsin, they only have PSU, USC, Iowa, and ND. It would not be inconceivable that they end up 10-2 or 11-1. If Wisky (which I don't think will) pulled off PSU, USC, and Iowa, while Iowa beats Michigan and Washington, Wisky would hold that head to head with both being 10-2.
Wisky is NOT going 10-2

Wasn’t sold on Michigan, they might still pull this out, but it doesn’t matter, they are not significantly better
Sharon Moore created such bad culture Whittingham, who is a good coach, needed to clean house. It’s not going to work plying the same bad apples. underwood needs to be benched.

You don’t bench a 3 million dollar qb, they should have done it last year. Whittingham is going to be canned, should have brought dampier with him

Someone’s lying to you, turn on the western Michigan game. Michigan looks like garbage.
Not lying to me, that's what they said after their visit during camp. Just repeating what they said. Obviously I haven't watched them play until last night.
